Long time no chat!

Blogging has taken a backseat lately. Honestly, I haven't had the motivation or energy to blog. Our lives are crazy town right now but this too shall end. So much has changed in the last 4-6 weeks that I don't even know where to begin!
For starters, we moved. Yep, you read that right. Looking back I see it was all in God's plan but boy has it been stressful! Toddler, pregnant, moving in with family, no plan? Yeah. Crazy! But everything is coming together perfectly.
Lexi is doing amazing! She amazes me on the daily by her vocabulary and understanding of life. She is very excited about 'baby brother'. Yeah, she refuses to call him Abram and calls him 'baby brother' every single time. It's pretty adorable.
Abram is doing great as well! He is still baking and most definitely growing. He has a little issue the drs are keeping an eye on, but they're assuming me that it is completely normal and we need to monitor it. It could be nothing. We shall see. But it is in God's hands and I have a peace about it.
Hubsy is doing good as well! He started a new job and is going to school for another career he is pursuing. More on this at a later date bc it's pretty quiet right now.
Overall, we are all doing great! Staying busy and trying to soak up our last few months as a family of 3! My sprinkle is this weekend for Abey Baby and I can't wait! But that's all that has been going on around here!

And Vincent #2, Baby Roo is a....

BOY!!!!!! Abram Ryan
Friday afternoon we went for an elective ultrasound to find out the sex of Roo! When we got in the room the first thing the tech said was 'holy cow! This baby is a mover!' He just kept spinning and turning and rolling. It was adorable. Shortly after that, she put her wand on his parts and immediately I saw what she saw- boy parts! I said 'that's a boy, isn't it?!' She confirmed and then I let out a small scream!! She started taking pics of him for us and we just talked. She said he was big for 16 weeks, which wasn't all that surprising to me bc I still think Helman is wrong about my due date. Then she put the  3d/4d on and we got to see him. We never had a 3d/4d ultrasound with Lexi, so I was amazed! It was so neat! He smiled at us immediately  and at that moment I felt so in love! Lexi said 'he my baby brudda!!' It was the cutest thing ever ! We had our reveal this weekend and spilled the beans. Let the shopping begin :)

14 weeks: Baby Roo

Today I am 14 weeks pregnant! Officially in the second trimester. I just wanted to jot a few things down for my memory because I find myself trying to remember my pregnancy with Lexi quite a bit. So here we go :)

Weight gain: Can we just skip this part? I'm up 4 lbs, but I lost 1.2 lbs since last week. Eek! I'm not sure what it is with this baby but I'm having a very hard time gaining weight. My mission this week is to pack on some weight!
Sleep: has been great! That first trimester was awful in the sleep department! I was always tired but couldn't sleep at night. Boo! But now? Out around 10ish every night. Wake once with Lexi and back to bed til 7-8. I also take a 2 hr nap with Lexi everyday.
Movement: I *think* I have felt it a few Times but I was probably just thinking I did! This baby feels very low to me. I don't remember Lexi feeling this low. I guess this is normal? Not going to lie, it makes me nervous quite frequently.
Gender: we don't know yet but hope to find out ASAP! I have my thoughts and did all the wives tales, but that's a post in itself.
Random: honestly, I have really been enjoying this pregnancy! Embracing it and feeling very thankful to be pregnant. So excited to have a second baby and find out if Roo is a girl or boy! I have had a little health issue that we are trying to see how serious or minor it is. Testing is coming up and I'm nervous. Ultimately, I know it is in God's hands though! Trying to stay busy and soak up the one kid time we have left! Here are three pics- one was 13 weeks 3 days, the other, 13 weeks 6 days, and 14 weeks exactly.

To the Strawberry Patch we go!

When I was growing up I'm sure we made plenty of memories. For some reason, I don't remember many. One thing that I remember very vividly was strawberry picking! We always used to go with my aunt, grandma, mom and sister. Sometimes, just my sister, my mom and myself! Every time we went we had so much fun. Of course, as kids we definitely consumed more than we collected and saved. And our attention span was that of a fly, but there was always fun to be had! Since Lexi is two now I knew it was time to take her strawberry picking, to make memories we won't forget for a long time. We started the day out late. Lexi had this new teenager sleepy stage where she wants to sleep until 9:00-9:30. Which is cool by me but it makes our days less productive. And let's be honest, on a good day they aren't productive at all. Lets blame pregnancy on that one. (Hello, 8 weeks!) So while Lexi was still sleeping this morning, I got up and got dressed, did my makeup, straightened my hair, packed our bags, and chose her an outfit for the day. Finally, she woke up around 9:15! So I got her dressed and we headed out. Ryan forgot his wallet at home so we had to go out the opposite way to bring it to him and then head towards the strawberry patch. After seeing Ryan Lexi was really heartbroken that he couldn't come with us.
Once we got there I got her wagon and sun shade all ready to go and off we went! We got the little green containers to put or strawberries in and she did great! At first She was grabbing them all- green, rotten, half eaten, etc until she really caught on. Then she was an old pro. She was picking better strawberries than me! She looked over after filling our 3 out of 6 containers and it was downhill from there. She saw the toys and wanted to 'pay' so after convincing her to pick a few more we went to play. Wow, that was an experience! Today was opening day so it was really packed and there were a few school field trips there too so tons of kids everywhere! We checked out the animals, the swings, the bouncy guys, she rode a fake cow and pig, and just ran around. She got testy at some points bc there was a lot of big kid things- a slide that went way to fast for her, zip lining, and this huge inflatable in the ground. She was so heartbroken that she couldn't do any of those things but with me being so newly pregnant I was too scared to chance it. We walked around some more and then she jumped in the wagon and was ready to go. It was getting really Hott at this point, so I was fine with it! We left with a flat of strawberries, two chocolate covered strawberries, a coloring book, and some really great memories! It was a day that I will not soon forget. On the way home we stopped for strawberry slushed at Sonic to finish off our day. Tomorrow we are heading to the zoo and then New Orleans for our super busy week next week! Praise God for everything he has blessed me with in this life. I'm feeling so blessed and grateful!

Baby V #2 update!

Tuesday I had my first ultrasound and the fun million questions and million tests dr appointment! We had a great appointment with Dr H. He is AMAZING and I love him! He had a few concerns that we discussed and then I told him some issues I have been having. Before we went in for my ultrasound, he says 'All these issues you are saying, are starting to make me think it is twins!' Ummmm, yeah insert a little unexpected twist here! Wow! I had a weird twin feeling from the beginning, so I was nervous. We got into the ultrasound room and he pulls up the baby! I said 'there is only one!' He says 'you're too smart for your own good, I couldn't even mess with you!' Haha. Babies heartbeat was 118 Bpm. Roo was only measuring 6 weeks 4 days, instead of 7 weeks 3 days like we originally thought, so he changed my due date. I am now due Oct 25, although I really think he may be wrong. But either way it's only 6 days different. We did get some unexpected and scary news- I have a heart murmur. Apparently, they are pretty common in pregnancy. I have been having chest pain so that is why I was so scared. He immediately sent me straight to hospital next door to get an EKG some. Friday we got the results back and Praise God they were normal! I still have a heart murmur and I have to see a cardiologist but we are believing for a positive report. Also found out I am hypoglycemic, which I think is honestly just pregnancy in general. I will start posting my weekly pregnant updates Friday!

Baby V #2: telling the family!

When we found out on Valentine's day that we were expecting we knew it was meant to be so we had To tell our parents! I took a picture with Lexi in her big sister shirt next to her oven with the sign and sent it to my dad. He was sooooo excited! He later told my mom, but that's a whole different story. Then, we skyped Ryan's mom that evening and showed her Lexi. She caught on pretty quick! She thought that we were playing an April fools joke on her. She was so excited!

Immediately I txt Rachel and asked her if we could have a game night Saturday night and we set that up. I figured it would be the perfect time to tell everyone. Saturday finally came around and we went to tell my great aunt and grandpa first. Lexi had her big sister shirt and I had to tell her to read it but she got it quickly then. Grandpa didn't quite understand what was going on until after. Lexi's pie (her godfather/parrain) apparently knew even though I told Ryan not to say anything! We walked into aunt Gigi's house with Lexi still wearing her shirt and no one really got it. Haha. I told Rachel to read her shirt and she freaked out! She was so excited- she definitely had the best reaction out of everyone. It made my heart so happy! DJ showed up with a cake that said 'congratulations Ryan and Danielle' people read it but still didn't quite get it. After a while the news spread like wildfire. It was such a fun night and we are so blessed to be expecting baby #2! Everyone thinks Roo is a boy, me included. I just have this gut feeling. More on this later :)

Baby V #2 Details

This is going to be a very detailed post, so if you skip, I won't be offended! I am trying to think of a super cute name to call this baby before it has a real name, maybe something will come to me when we see the u/s.

Beginning of this year all of a sudden I got some major baby fever! Around Lexi's second birthday we started talking about the possibilities of us wanting a second baby. We had an insurance issue that needed to be figured it out so we pushed it out of our minds. Fast forward to about the 5th-ish of January and everything fell into place perfectly! The whole time we had been praying 'Bless it or block it'. We pray that for all of our major decisions. I think it is such a strong prayer and I just love it so much! I had an IUD in, and have since Lexi was 6 weeks, but it was starting to give me problems and with trying to conceive we decided it would be best to get it removed. This is where it gets TMI, but I want to remember so I'm writing this. I haven't had a period since before I got pregnant with Lexi. I had Lexi, then the postpartum, then the IUD and that made my cycles disappear. My appt was January 16, 2013. January 11-12 I was hurtin really bad and didn't know why but assumed it was my IUD again. Then, I started bleeding. Well when I got my IUd taken out (1-16-2013) my OB confirmed that it was in fact my period. That wasn't a coincidence to me! So I got the all clear for us to try to conceive. Helman said that it could take a few months for my cycles to regulate but that didn't mean I wouldn't get pregnant right away. He said I could literally get pregnant that night. When I was leaving he said 'see you soon'! I started my prenatals the next day.

Fast forward a week and a day an I was back in his office due to pain on my lower right side. It felt like round ligament to me (a first symptom of pregnancy) but I have had this pain before so I wasn't sure. He checked me and had me get an ultrasound done to make sure there were no cysts. He also ran cultures to check for any infections causing the pain. Everything came back normal. I asked him how far along I would have to be for him to be able to tell I was pregnant and he said two weeks, at least. I asked the ultrasound tech and she said u/s is 3 weeks.
February 2 I had about 4-5 hrs of really bad cramping and then it went away. I figured it was due to my period being due in a week, so I didn't pay much attention. February 9th I was scheduled to start my period but honestly I didn't know when to expect it bc it was my second cycle in three years. Saturday morning no period but I had symptoms that could go either way so I tested. I saw a very very faint line! I txt two friends to see if they saw it and they both did. Then I took another. No second line. Okay, weird. Sunday morning nothing and negative test. This is where in going to leave off :) I'm going to include the test with the very, very faint line.
