Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?! Okay, you are right! There is no excuse! I am Sorry for our many absences these past couple weeks. Yes, our life is busy right but that is no excuse. Writer's block is more of my issue right now! But there have been things getting accomplished around here. Like, for instance, our first little gathering will be here March 10th! Eeeek! I am a tad nervous because obviously the house isnt decorated- shoot, we just got finished unpacking this last weekend! We are mainly just hosting. It is a family thing and there are like 4 people coming so that doesnt count, right? Right!
Or things happening like, you know, cutting my hair off above my shoulders! I have never ever gone that short before. At first- i HATED it- bad, but now it is growing on me! Plus, it is so much easier with a toddler and a puppy. Win, win!
Toddler tantrums/meltdowns! I feel like i have a little newborn again. It is TOUGH! She is at such a fun stage but such a tough age too. We love all her new things she does- even though talking isnt among this list. Maybe it is better that she cant talk? Maybe.
Maverick, the said puppy, boy he wears me Out! He is my first puppy and i didnt realize how much work they really are. Finally, he is getting better about pottying on the potty pad but he still misses or goes right next to them. Not to mention he wakes up crying/barking every.single.morning at 6:30 at.the.latest! Yeah, not cool Boy! But he is ever so cute so it is a-okay. He will grow up eventually, i hope! Oh yeah, the hubs? He is doing good as well! I think thats all we really have going on. And I promise- I will be stopping in more frequently! An before I go, a before and after pic of the hair!

Sorry it has been so quiet around here lately! We have been so busy between moving, Lexi, having two houses to clean and organize, and we adopted a precious little puppy!! I am going to do the project 365 catch up tomorrow because i have still been doing it. I just didnt post because our internet was down.
Friday we adopted a 6 week old Catahoula/German shepherd boy puppy! He is adorable! He really is a pretty good puppy, except for the still not being house trained issue but we will get there. He is going to be a pretty big dog but him And lexi are already best friends. Naming him Was so very hard but we finaly decided on Maverick. I think as he gets bigger that she will be riding him :)
The new house is painted and almost completely organiZed finally! We went on a date Saturday and realizes just how much our lives have changed in 2 years. We bought a dining room Table on iur date night?! Ha! I say we are lame but Ryan thinks we just have our priorities right and are responsible! The other house literally needs an hour more of work and then itll be done! And that alone will be a big burden lifted!
Lexi, oh Lexi, she is hysterical! I will have to do a complete update on her soon! She is a trip to, to say the least! Hope everyone is doing great! I am still following all my blogs :) and hope to be on here more frequently now that things are settling.

Our new house!!

We signed the papers on the house last night and while it is still surreal to us we are very excited!! We looked at fridges and paint last night and I am Calling today about insurance! So I am

God works in mysterious ways!! Last Thursday we looked into a house that I have had my eyes on for a while. Yes, this was the pic I posted on project 365 week 3. So all weekend we thought about it and prayed 'bless it or block it' and we decided this morning we were going to go for it! So this morning the hubs called the guy back and said we were in. Well, he had bad news- thouse house was Sold. But- he also had good news! A bigger house, with more land in our price range! So Ryan Got the address And drove over to check it out. Needless to say, he loved it and we are officially homeowners! We have a few things we would Like to do but nothing major. And it has a DISHWASHER!!! Who is happy?? This girl here!!! Woot woot!! We are very excited and so thankful that we serve a great God!! Pics will be coming Soon. We sign the papers tomorrow so I will try toget better pics!

Day 15- we went shopping and I got new makeup and a curling wand! Fun stuff! This is the pic of how i am trying to learn To do my makeup!
Day 16- took lexi to the park on a playdate with the neighobr. also, discovered she loved babies and hates to be bit!!!
Day 17- made a new bright animal Print bow :)
Day 18- lexi also has a fascination with cups suddenly! She carried this cup around all.day.long!

Day 20- playdate with the bestie! The girls in their carseats. Lexi was knocked out and Mali was til right before i took the pic, figures! Lol
Day 21- it is blurry sorry, bu Lexi likes to wear our clothes around her neck. It is hilarious!! Underwear, bras, pants, socks, you name it!

Home Organization Notebook/ Planner!

First of all, congrats to my cousin Abbi on her engagement!! She is going to be a beautiful bride!
I also have been Considering selling Scentsy! I know, I am So undecisive. It is such a big decision and I am
So afraid to fail that I always give up. Maybe this time I will actually go though with it. I hope to at least!
On to the fun stuff!
I have been dreaming if an Erin Condren planner. I never ended up buying one because I felt to guilty. So i started researching solutions to help get me organized! I am proud to say thag FINALLY ( a year later) I am organized and have a good schedule going that works great for my family! This binder has been a LIFESAVER! seriously, I am not always stressed anymore, everything is organized and has a home, and I am Having lots of time to play with lexi, craft, and just relax! Such a big difference it has made in a week. I hand made everything, so I am very happy with how it turned out. There are 5 sections- weeky planner, budget, meal Planning, calender, and misc.
The weekly planner section has 2 pages for every day of the week. It has a section for responsibilities, extras, chores, and meal planning for the day: it feels so nice to cross stuff off the list everyday!
The budget section is great! It is making us very accountable for whay we spend. I have one page lableled budget whuch has 4 sticky notes on the page: gas, food, bills, and etc. On the next page is a daily total of what we spent, the next page is weekly, and finally yearly! I am aleays scared to write on it so it stops me From Spending money! Ha! Whatever works right?!
The meal Planning section is really nice as well. I have a weekly plan, monthly, grocery list section. And a pocket for coupons. This has been amazing! The whole next week is full of new recipes.
The misc section has a list of weekly chores. And the calender section is pretty self explanatory. It really has been so amazing. I just wish I had done it sooner! I am Including a few pics to show ya :)

Nursery/playroom

This week has been such a productive week! Here is what we have been up to..
Day eight- lexi passe out in carseat with her book after church nursery!
Day nine- Lexi feeding her daddy a beer before the LSU BCS game! (we wont discuss thay game...)
Day ten- Lexi helping me clean by sweeping! Such a little helper!
Day eleven- grocery shopping with my little helper!
Day twelve lexi using the lunchbox as a seat attacking raw potatoes.
Day thirteen-what happens hen you buy a storage place and only have a SUV! haha
Day fourteen- my addiction to bows...

Interesting dr appt!

Yesterday i had my doctor appt, well the second of this week. It was my Annual- lucky me! We dont have a babysitter or anyone close to us to watch Lexi so She was partaking on the journey. Needless to say, it was an interesting Day. I called early yesterday morning to get their address bc it wasnt pulling up on my GPS. come to find out it was a 25 min Drive! The whole reason i chose them Is because it was Close to my house. That was kinda aggravating. Well when I got there I felt better bc the place was huge! So huge that there was no parking and I had to walk a long long way with a toddler. If i was preg and had to make that walk I would be really mad. But thats not even The worst of it. I kid you not when I Tell
You i have no sense of direction. I get lost with my GPS so without it you can imagine. So i walk into the women's tower- wrong Place! This was the birthing unit.. Then I follow the lady's directions to the next place and get all signed in. Well the first thing I see is 'no children over 6 weeks allowed' wow! How the heck am i supposed to do That? We dont have a babysitter or anything. So I sign in and this little monster of a kid runs up to Lexi and grabs her hand Immediately! I couldnt even get to Lexi because this kid was in my way. So the mom Takes her away. It was Lexi's snack time so i poured puffs on her tray. The monster kid RAN all the way across the room, grabbed some of Lexi's puffs and walked away! Are you kidding me?!?! And you know what her mom did? NOTHING! i was soooo mad. They then called me to the counter and told me I was at the wrong place again! I was so thankful! They sent me to the right place finally. What an adventure! So I get to the right office and sign in. The receptionist was so rude I was thinking it was going to be a horrible experience. Lexi made bad decisions in the waiting room and acted terrible and threw tantrums. I could have literally cried, I was so embarassed! Finally our name was called and we had a really sweet nurse. She held Lexi while i got weighed, weighing in at 101.1 lb! Lexi of course freaked out. We then sat there an waited. She did great in the actual office and the dr was really great with her and understandingo why she was with me. I really liked him. He was comcerned with some stuff I had going On so he sent me for an ultrasound. That was fun with Lexi as well. Overall, she did much better than I anticipated (especially considering she didnt have a nap) and I am so proud of her! But next time I will find someone to watch her :)

Sick Hubs

I am a paranoid hypochondriac. In case anyone was wondering! Every little pain I feel i think the worst! If i have a pain On my right side I immediately think I am dying of appendicitis! It actually is pretty sad. Then I get the nervous feeling and all upset and worried. I am learning to hand It over to God but it has been a hard lesson. Right now the hubs is hving some Pain on his right side. Of course I immediately thought appendicitis but I didnt mention anything because I didnt want to freak him Out. The hubs doesnt go to the dr ever and he doesnt miss work. When he made a dr appt today at 8am This mornin I knew it was serious! Then when he called to tell Me He was taking the rest of the day off, I knew just how serious it was. Bless his heart, he isnt a complainer and you can tell he is in pain! I feel so terrible for him. The dr didnt know what it was and made him get Blood work done and wants an ultrasound immediately. I started doing Some Research and freaked Myself out. From what I am Reading it seems like it might be appendicitis. I just hope he is okay and gets outta pain soon! I feel so very terrible for Him! So if you don't Mind please say a prayer for him and my nerves. Thanks so much!! And hopefully we get good news tom!

Baby Fever & Lexi's newest discoveries!

Boy Oh boy baby fever has been crazy lately- however, not for me! I am perfectly content with Lexi my little cupcake toddler. And quite honestly, i still have my hands full and feel overwhelmed sometimes. Sometimes I still have to double take because she is really mine :) she is such a blessing and makes us so happy! We just arent ready for Lexi to be a big sis yet.
We have lots of friends expecting- lots! I can think of 10 off the top of my Head! (I am Certainly Not drinking the water, ha!) ((congrats Ashley, cant wait to find out sex!))

This little girl Is a trip! She really makes me laugh with all the stuff she is doing lately! She has been being such a great little helper. When I go grocery shopping and come home to unload she will grab the handles on the bags and pull them Into the kitchen for me! It is so cute and she is so strong! When i am Sweeping she will pick up the dust pan for me and bring it right to where i need it. So sweet! Yesterday, she picked up the broom And was sweepin, ha! Gotta train them up, right?

She has also been quite the little talker this last week. She always used to babble alot but now she babbles like she knows what she is trying to say. SHe says words here and there, but never repeats them. She is also starting to talk with her hands alot and thats hilarious! She is beginning to use yes and no when appropriate. She amazes me every day how much she is learning and taking in on a daily basis. Amazing! I am Sure i am Forgetting some Things but oh well.

Happenings lately!

Sorry for being MIA lately! With the computer being broken I havent had the motivation to blog- but I am Back!! We have been semi busy and I am going to update you bullet style!
*we finally found a church thats perfect for us! Lexi even went in nursery today! I had to go in 3 times but that was my fault bc i checked on her and forgot to change her diaper. Oops!
*Our car is in the shop yet again :( so i am driving around this teeny tiny little clown car with no power windows or locks. But the company is paying for it all so i cant complain.
*we looked at new trucks and chose the one we wanted and everything and decided against it. (i am Secretly excited!)
*I started my planner/home organization notebook and I am Very excited! We dont have a printer so I scrapbooked the whole thing. I have had a blast doing it and i cant wait to finish. Maybe I will post pics and maybe a tutorial! Hmmm
*it has really been on my heart lately to really get more into my Etsy shop. I kinda quit it because i have been discouraged with it but i might just give it another shot! With Lexi being more independent lately i hve more free time on my hands.

Day one- waking up after all the new Years eve festivities! It was the only time Lexi has EVER slept past 8!!
Day two- Lexi was reading her books!
Day three- lexi playing on the ipad with her nanny linda.
Day four- family pic! One of my all time faves!
Day five- lexi destroying a magazine
Day six- our walk to visit the ducks! Day seven- napping before the big Saints playoff game on mommy.

New Years Resolutions!

I can barely believe that Christmas is a week from today! How in the world did that happen?! Anywho so I have been thinking about my New years resolutions. This year I am going to try to stick to them because they are all good things :) Here they are!

* I would like to do a minimum of one thing on my craft list a week. This will give Lexi some daddy time and myself some mommy time! The hard part is going to be what to begin on first!
* I want to get back into going to church and get more involved. We have really been slacking at the church thing since we moved and I am ready to be involved again!
* I am also going to do the 365 pics for 2012. I have probably close to that for this year but it is a coincidence. I want to make this a point and stick to it!

Maybe you can hold me accountable to it :) What are your new years resolutions?

12 months! How is it possible that you are over a year old? This post is late but we have been very busy this last week, so I am sure you will understand. I am going to do it a bit differently today!

How she went from this.....

to this.... amazes me!!

Lexi, you are 19lbs 2 oz ( a week before your birthday)! You are still pretty small for your age, but I think you get it from me. You are wearing mainly 6-9 month clothing but some 12 month. Shoot, you even fit in some 6 months still! You are still in cloth diapers 99% of the time (1% was when we didn't have access to a washer!) You are on the second smallest setting on those still, so I think we definitely got our use out of them. You wear a size 3 shoe but can fit into size 4, they are just big. You still have gorgeous blue eyes but your hair is darkening up a whole bunch!

You have quite the personality and it shows more and more every day! You want what you want when you want it, and if you don't get your way we hear about it! You have such a little attitude, you are definitely my diva! When you get mad you throw yourself backwards and just pitch a fit. I am trying to just let it run its stage, but it is hard!

You are really starting to learn, blossom, and understand. You grab your books and run to us to read them to you, you bring us your juice cup when it is empty, you open your puffs by yourself and put the lid back on! You are such a joy and so funny! When you see us laughing at you it makes you do whatever you were doing more! You have been signing alot this month, makes mama happy! You have started talking much more. You have a little phrase but we won't discuss it! You still say dad alot, rarely do you ever say mama anymore. You say num num num and click your tongue when we talk about food :) so cute! you love bananas! in the morning we give you the banana in half and you walk around the house watching tv and just eating your banana as happy as can be! And now you want your own apple which is so funny! We used to just give you bites of ours but now you throw a fit until we give you your own, ha! So we peel the skin and you walk around holding it in both hands chomping down! You makes us take bites as well! At least you share ;)Yesterday you had it in your carseat and you didn't make a peep!

You are sleeping much better, but still heading down around 8-9 and waking up at 7am at the latest. You are an early bird! Then you take a morning nap and definitely an afternoon nap, sometimes an extra nap in there. You are a big time mamas girl, you cry and cry and cry when I leave the room or anything! You remembered your nana and papa and they wanted you to stay the night and I said no so you cried so hard!

You clap all your hands all time, enjoy dancing, love giving high 5's, and laugh constantly! You are such a happy baby now! You are slowly beginning to become independent! You eat all big girl food and are almost completely off the bottle. You are about to get your nunu taken away. You are mainly walking but occasionally you will crawl. You are still a climber, but now it is worse, you use things to your advantage stacking them to reach what you want! You are very persistent, you don't give up until you have what you want.

You are a very loving little girl. All day long when I play with you you will go do your own thing and every minute or two you will walk on over and kiss me on the cheek. You literally don't go 5 mins all day without giving mama kisses! and when I am not laying and playing with you you blow them at me! melts.my.heart! Such a sweet baby!

You have been such a joy and every day is more and more fun! You are so serious and funny, it is priceless! We love you so very much and without you we would be so lost!! You will always be our baby girl, even when you have your own baby!

Christmas Blog Swap

I participated in a Christmas blog swap over at Between the Lines and it was a blast! I was so excited and it did not disappoint :) I had Kendra as my partner, and she was lots of fun t get to know and shop for! Such a sweet sweet girl! I loved my gift from her- she did great! Now I am going to show you all my goodies!

This is the cup cozey and it is going to go perfect with my Starbucks order that is on its way :)

These little hand sanitizers are amazing! I have so many and believe me- you can never have enough!! Now I have another holder to go with it :)

This was my bath and body works gift- and it is perfect! I love me some bath and body works. Kendra knows the way to my heart!! <3 It has the lotion, spray, body wash, and lip gloss! Perfect for the holidays.

And an adorable little travel case with essentials, this will definitely come in handy!

And as I said, I also got my favorite little truffles (that were scarfed down in .4 seconds!) and peppermint bark, which was also delicious! Thank you Kendra! You did a great job and it was such a joy to be your partner :) I hope you loved your gift! <3

Lexi's 1st Birthday!

I have a few posts to do about Lexi's birthday so I am going to start today with the first one!
Wednesday, Lexi's birthday, we had a busy and fun day planned! We wanted our birthday cupcake to have a blast! To start her day off right Tuesday night we let her have a cupcake to enjoy! She really loved it and didn't leave a single crumb behind! She was a mess!

She woke up Wednesday morning bright and early like usual and we just hung out until 8:03. Then I stole her and gave her a big hug and kiss at exactly 8:03 (when she was born they wouldnt let me stimulate her bc she had meconium in her mouth and them Ryan got to hold her first!) Then it was Ryans turn.

After she took her morning nap we got ready to head to the French quarter for beignets at Cafe du Monde and the aquarium! We met up with Mike, Aimy, and Mali too! It was freezing out but the girls had a blast!They both enjoyed the aquarium together as well.

We then got brave and took her to see the Muppets! It was a great movie, very cute and she did much better than I expected. She slept for about half of it and then when she woke up she danced and clapped to the movie! She ate her puffs and drank her juice,jumped between Ryan and I, and fussed a bit. Overall, she did great!! We had a great day with our cupcake! It was so bust we didn't even get to open presents until Thursday! (Sorry for pic overload!!) part 2 coming soon!

MIA

We have been MIA the last couple days but everything is finally settling down! Lexi's party was a success and she had a great time! I am not feeling the greatest but have lots to do with Christmas 13 days away! (how did that happen?) But I will be doing a more thorough post tomorrow, promise! Mommies Needed

December 3rd- A year ago!

Oh how I looked forward to December 3rd for months and months and months! If someone would have told me in the beginning that I would in fact not have Lexi on her due date I probably would have smacked them, ha! I was so impatient it was ridiculous! I had it set in my mind that she wouldn't be a December baby and I could not have been more wrong... I also had told everyone if she was going to be late she better be born on the 10th. That again did not happen because she obviously had her own ideas! We wanted her born on the 10th because Ryan and I were both born on the 10th!
I remember this day like it was yesterday. I was so hopeful and after the day ended I thought Lexi was never ever guna leave her comfy little womb. I was wrong there too! Maybe I should stop thinking?!?! haha! Well anywho my friend, Emily, who was due the 10th went into labor on my due date! I was so jealous and beautiful Cambrie Lynn was born on December 4th! So happy birthday baby girl! We will be attending her party tomorrow and I am sure it will be a blast! Also a very happy 1st Birthday to Wylie over at Intorverted Mama! I have begun to get to know Ashley and she is a super sweet girl! I am excited for their upcoming move so we can have girls weekends and playdates! yay!

A visit to the doctor...

Well, I have learned since becoming pregnant with Lexi and having an infant with what we now know was GERD that it is normal to go to the doctor and leave more confused than you were when you went in there! Lexi's little tummy has been protruding (and looking like a little ethiopian baby) and I was worried but the hubs said she is getting fat (ha!). Well Monday night we noticed that the bottom of her belly just looked strange. Her belly button was sunken in and there is a huge lump under it. We touched it and she didn't react at all so we figured nothing major. I went on thinking about it and it hit me- maybe it is a hernia. So off the WebMd & Baby center I went. She had all the symptoms and one that really gave it away- reflux will act up if you get a hernia, well her reflux has been horrible again since the day before Thanksgiving. So I put a call in to the dr and had to drive an hour and a half to take her in because he needed to see it. We get there and wait forever and she cries the whole time then we finally see the doctor. He doesn't see anything and feels it and nothing. He says 'I don't think it is a hernia, it doesn't look like one at least.' Well I had taken pics the night before (because of course it loooked wore then) and showed him. He says 'Oh, well that looks like a hernia.' Awesome. 5 mins ago it wasn't but now it is? He asks questions and I answer all of them and ask my questions. Will it go away on its own? Do we need to worry? His response 'Hernias don't go away on their own, they have to be surgically removed by a pediatric surgeon. So when you are here for her 1 year appt we will get you the number for the ped surgeon.' Wait a minute, 10 mins ago you were saying it wasn't a hernia and now you are saying she needs surgery to remove it? Say what?!!! He then explains that it isnt an emergency surgery, it could wait 3 weeks to a month and that it isnt an emergency unless x,y, or z happens to it. So I leave the office more concerned than I was in the first place. Big surprise there. So now we wait and see what happens! Praying for her obviously because I know it isn't a major surgery but any surgery is a surgery, which freaks me out. Another thing that freaks me out is how in the world are you going to keep a toddler who can't stay outta anything for 5 mins from ripping her stitches? Umm yeah, we won't go there! So we are praying our little girl gets healed or that it isn't in fact a hernia!

I am probably going to be an absent blogger this weekend. The hubs is going hunting for 5 days 4 nightS!!! And Lexi and I will be jumping from house to house all weekend. And I am not excited about it so let's not talk about it! Hope everyone has a blessed weekend!

Thanksgiving, Black Friday, & Weekend Catch Up!

We have have had a wonderful weekend! It was so relaxing and such a nice time! Thanksgiving we had family time and Lexi met some new family and close friends. We pretty much just hung out all day and relaxed before we went out for Black Friday. Lexi has been a cranky pants all weekend so she just stayed with me and Ryan mainly. Her YaYa watched her Thursday night when we went shopping and I think she had a blast! She slept great and we got a full nights rest, which was such a treat!!
Black Friday- what a DISASTER!! They should most definitely do away with it or do it differently or something. We went to Walmart at 8:30 because Ryan's cousin Rachel wanted a laptop and we wanted to get in line early for some nice deals. Well we walk in and it is a mad house! All the things that weren't supposed to even open til 10pm were opened and people were everywhere. It wasn't handled correctly at all. There was almost fights over Xbox and other electronics. Well at 10pm we decided to check out-which took forever. This is where I got pissed. Walmart decided that if the items weren't ringing up at the right price that they won't price correct it! How ridiculous is that? Your ad says one thing and you aren't going to stick by it? Wow way to go Walmart! So instead of arguing with them I said forget it, I will buy those items elsewhere. So after that nightmare we didn't even get all of what we wanted so next year Walmart will not be getting my money or my time. After that we decided to just go home and get some sleep since we didn't think the mall was going to be open yet. We woke up the next morning and went shopping again. We scored some really great deals! However, next year I think I will be doing the shopping online.
We decorated and cleaned Saturday while daddy worked and today we went to see Santa! We also learned that our restaurant days are officially over! (They have been since lexi was born but now it is official official-which is okay with me) Oh and I got my christmas present early since the hubs got his early :) merry Christmas to me, I love it! And now for the pics...

As you can tell we did a terrible job of getting pics! And little miss would not wear her matching bow, but Christmas will have more pics, promise!

Thankful Thursday: Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we have so much to be thankful for! I do not even know where to begin! First and foremost we have our family- Lexi completed it and I am so thankful and have enjoyed this last year to the fullest extent! I am thankful we have God to give us these special days and every single blessing he gives us on a daily basis. I am thankful for our friends, house, hubby's job, ability to stay at home with Lexi, and just all the other blessings in our lives that I could name all day and long.

This year we will be at the in-laws for Thanksgiving just like last year. I am making cupcakes, pasta house salad, and trail mix to snack on while we are waiting. I am hoping next year we have our own house to have our first Thanksgiving in :) Only time and God's plan will tell! Lexi has a special little Thanksgiving outfit for tomorrow and I think she will enjoy it! It will be her 1st Thanksgiving and she loves food so it is definitely going to be ecstatic!! We will be watching the Macy's day parade and making it a tradition, I remember doing this as a kid so I think it is so cool to be able to carry it through! Then tomorrow night she will be spending some time with her YaYa while her daddy and I go shopping! I think it is going to be interesting. He has never gone Black Friday Shopping, but he is pretty excited! I hope everyone has a blessed holiday!

Tuesday Tidbits

I am everywhere this week in my head so right now I am just going to do a bullet post.
*This weekend was Lexi's first camping trip. I have a pics and it is worthy of a post in itself but let me say that it was quite interesting!
*I am very excited about Thanksgiving and we are still deciding on if we are going shopping that night. I am torn on it! I guess we shall see.
*Ryan bought my christmas present Sunday because it was way too good of a deal to pass up! I am very excited about it!
*I am doing a bloggy Christmas swap sponsored by Laura from Beteween The Lines and I am so excited!! It is going to be a blast, and it just started!
*I ordered our Christmas cards already, now I am just waiting to get them in!
* I am super pumped that after thanksgiving everyone will start playing Christmas music and Christmas movies!
* I can't believe that in 2 weeks my girl will be 1!!
*My parents are coming in for her bday and I am so excited to see them! Just wish my sis and her bf could come in too.

What has the world come to?!?!

So yesterday morning I was fbing while Lexi was playing and I saw someone had been arrested in baby Tyler's murder case and that they think it was his mom. I comment on my friends status and ask who baby Tyler was. Apparently he is a 13 month old little boy whose mother decided that since he wouldn't stop crying and cooperate and go back to sleep that she would beat him to death and bring his body a mile down the road by the river. She then continued to report him missing the next morning and made up this whole story. This is very similar to the Casey Anthony case. I kept my mouth shut about that whole situation because even though I was angered over it, there is nothing I can do about it, just to move on and pray something like that never happens again! However, I think this stems back to the Casey Anthony case. Women are seeing that she got away with killing her child so why can't they. I don't know if anyone else has realized lately but there has been a major outburst of childhood violence and abuse since then. That is sick to me! How on earth could you kill or even beat your own child?!?! People are so sick!
Then you see the ads that Milwaukee is running with the baby sleeping with a knife saying that co-sleeping kills. Did they ever take into effect that these mothers might be doing drugs and alcohol while pregnant? I know that they weren't exactly saying that it kills but to be safer about it but I feel like they should be paying closer attention to situations like the one mentioned above. Another example is I have a friend and she has a niece (2 1/2 years old) and nephew. Her sister beats them all the time and is a terrible mother. Well the little girl had a black eye and said that her mommy did it to her and hurt her. So my friend called CPS on her own sister for the safety of the kids. And you know what happened with that? Absolutely nothing! That was an epic fail on the system, and obviously it needs some work.
I just wish these mothers and fathers would think. There are so many people that deal with infertility issues and would gladly adopt these children so that they are safe and loved. And yet these parents are killing them. Enough is enough! Someone needs to be a voice for the innocent children! I will be praying fr all the kids out there that need protection tonight. This really hurts my head and heart to read!

Weekend Happenings

We had a pretty laid back and restful weekend but it was nice! The hubs worked on Saturday so Lexi and I took a mini road trip to visit the family in Nola. Our fun family day was cut short cuz I got sick. I am not really sure what is going on but I need prayers. This has been going on for about two weeks and due to Ryan's job switch (3 months ago) I still don't have insurance yet. Our insurance goes active next week, so as long as I make it til then I will be happy! I have some serious nerves going on here! But I am thankful the insurance kicks in, just wish it would kick in sooner!
We got family pics done yesterday and I was going to upload them today but I am still deciding which ones to choose because let's be honest, there are 179 and I know you don't want to see them all! ha! So those will be up sometime this week! Have you ever noticed that when you want your kiddo to cooperate and smile and walk that they don't? Yeah, I realized that yesterday! Oh well, they still turned out great!
Today we are for sure putting up our Christmas tree! We wanted to yesterday but the house was a disaster and I was tired and didn't feel well so it didn't happen, but it is tonight! I am excited!

Happy Veteran's Day to all those military men and women and their families who risk their lives to give us freedom! That is such a selfless gift for one and their family to give. I don't think words could ever express how thankful we truly are! Thanks :)
So this morning i went to get everything set up for the craft show next weekend and I got some very very sad news :( They couldn't take me because they have too many booths doing bows! Makes me sad but maybe it is a blessing in disguise? I have already bought everything and started working on it so I am going to just put it on my Etsy Shop and pray it sells with the upcoming holidays! I also have another great opportunity in the works, if it works out it would be such a major blessing!! I also got my business cards in yesterday, and was very impressed, so if anyone would like some for themselves and to promote, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Tonight I think we are going to our new Toys R Us and make Lexi a wish list for her birthday and Christmas to kinda help people out a bit! I love toys r us so I am way pumped! Plus I think it is going to be fun family time for us and give us a chance to get outta the house!

Tomorrow Lexi and I will be taking a trip to go visit her Great grandpa and her nanny Linda. We are going to help them paint and also just to spend some time with them! We love to see our family, it really reminds me of growing up. I remember so many memories from there house and I think it is so great that Lexi gets to make some wonderful memories there as well!

Christmas is in the air!

Christmas is in the air around here! I have always gotten very excited about Christmas but this year I am way more excited than normal! Blame it on having our own house and not being 9 months preggers, or that I am a mommy now, but either way- im PSYCHED! We have Cambrie's first birthday party, we also have Lexi's first birthday the 7th of December, her party the 10th, and my parents are coming in town for 3 days. I love Thanksgiving as well!! We usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up our tree but I think this year we are going to be rebels! I am ready to put it up now!! Plus we have Lexi's Birthday and Christmas shopping done and we need to wrap them because she is already trying to get them open! Is anyone else very excited? Or decorating early this year?? I also used to hate Christmas music and this year? I.LOVE.IT!! I have it playing already on my pandora station on my Iphone! and a kids one for Lexi!
This year I would love to make a different type of cookie/dessert every 2 or 3 days a week! This could be very unhealthy but very delicious! I am ready to get this party started! I have also started buying Christmas decorations and I have the lists made. I saw today the Black Friday ads and I am hoping that since the hubs has off Thanksgiving and the day after that I can have some mommy shopping time! That would be nice. The ads weren't that great but they have a few things that I am interested in. And the outlet mall is way close to me so we might have to hit that up as well! I am so very excited and I must have said that a hundred times in this post!

Management & Organization

Before I had Lexi I was very organized and the house was always clean. I was blessed to get to sty home for the last trimester of my pregnancy so as you can imagine, I stayed busy daydreaming about the days our little girl would be here. I dreamt of everything I would take her to do, the holidays, how the house would always be clean, dinner cooked, laundry caught up, etc. Well talk about a rude awakening once this little body was home from the hospital! My mom stayed with me in the hospital and for the first 3 weeks to help out with Lexi and get some bonding time in. We knew we probably wouldn't see them again until my sis graduated and she would be 5 months old. My mom was a God send! She was so helpful with anything! She would wake up with her at night and give her a pumped bottle and let me sleep, she would cook & clean, she kept me sane, and most of all- she was just there! I figured that we would get into our own little routine eventually and my little baby is going to be a toddler soon. Moral of the story- we never got organized.(and before someone freaks, Lexi So now I am going to get us into a routine and hope that this gives me more time to craft or whatever I may need to do.
So I am going to write it out here because that means I am accountable, right? Welp, here is the plan:
Monday: sweep kitchen and bathroom
Tuesday: vacuum & clean kitchen
Wednesday: sweep kitchen and bathroomThursday: vacuum, clean kitchen, and dust
Friday: sweep kitchen and bathroom
Satuday: mop kitchen and bathroom

Everyday I plan to straighten up and do dishes & bottles.

I am also going to go as far as to plan out our day, so here it goes:
Wake up & give Lexi her morning milk
watch cartoons & fold laundry with Lexi
put laundry away and put Lexi down for nap
get things done while Lexi naps
feed Lexi her breakfast & do chores once she finishes
play & read books for a bit and run errands if necessary
lunch for both of us and pull out food for dinner
Lexi time to play by herself & I work on bows, etc.
Lexi nap and mommy internet time
cook dinner and finish everything up
family time!!

I hope I didn't bore you to death and I hope this works out! We definitely need some sort of a system going on! What do you do to keep everything together and not constantly feel like you are losing your mind?

I have found myself in Toys R us once a week now and stalking the weekly ads! With Lexi having a birthday and Christmas all within 3 weeks it could be really expensive! But with the deals I am getting, that isn't going to be the case. I am going to just highlight the main ones I think people might be interested in, just to help.

Frustration

Frustration is getting the best of me today!! It may or may not be because I am sick but people I tell ya I am about to lose it! Lexi's 1st birthday party is in a month and 2 days and I have been calling to get it booked for well over two weeks. Needless to say when people don't return my calls for something so important I get pissed and very impatient. I am seriously about to say screw it and not have a party!! This is ridiculous! I am paying money for you to do this and you can't even return my f-n call! Seriously? It will take 5 mins. Therefor my bday invites can't even be made because we aren't for sure they can do it then! This is getting to be more stressful than it is going to be worth. I am so FRUSTRATED!! Ah!! excuse the mean post, I just needed to vent!

11 Months!

Dearest Lexi, I can barely believe that in a month you will be 1 year old! That is absolutely insane and I really can't believe a year has gone by already! It is very bittersweet!! Whole Milk Weaning

So I am going to post on our experiences with milk weaning. Not sure if it will help anyone but just in case and also for my own personal reference in the future!
Ever since Lexi was just a couple hours old we have had formula issues. I tried breastfeeding, it just didn't suffice her hunger so in the beginning we had to supplement formula. We tried just regular Enfamil Newborn formula and learned the hard way that it made her little tummy ache. After arguing with the pediatrician to let me switch her he finally agreed to Enfamil Gentlease. Once my milk finally came in she was almost completely EBF, with formula here and there but very rarely. Well she spit up excessively from the beginning and they diagnosed her with reflux at 2 weeks and they told me I had to put cereal in her bottles and that would help her. She started cereal early needless to say. Well about 8 weeks old they figured out that for some reason the breastmilk made her much sicker and made her spit up more so we slowly weaned her completely to formula. I was sad but what could I do? My child was screaming in pain all day everyday! It was terrible,this was also when her colic started but that is a completely diff story! So her reflux stayed horrible and she never outgrew it. We were in and outta the doctor every.single.week. and it was quite ridiculous. When she was 3 months and 4 weeks the doctor suggested that we start her on solids, he thought that would help with her reflux. So here we are at almost 11 months and completely off formula, on whole milk, and all table foods. The formula has always been a batttle so we decided to just switch her to milk and give her a daily vitamin. We made the transition slowly, starting out with 2oz milk & 4oz formula. Then heading to 4oz milk 2oz formula and finally to all milk. We also decided to break the bottle at this point except for before bed & the nights she doesn't sleep all night. She has taken to this very well & rarely spits up!! This makes me one happy mommy!!

So for real though, I have been thinking about creating Lexi a wish list for her 1st bday, just so guests have an idea of what to get. Is that too rude/annoying? Honestly? I think it is kinda ridiculous in a way but in the same way I kinda understand. Like two weekends ago when I was scratching my head on what to bring to the two first birthdays we attended!

Lexi's First Halloween!

This year was Lexi's first Halloween and our day was a little different than I had expected! We had a 'baby' Halloween party planned, but due to some sad news I couldn't make it! Thursday one of Ryan's biggest male influence when he was growing up passed. This was expected, he has been suffering very badly for a long while now. He was such a great man and he will surely be missed but he definitely has a mansion up in heaven that he is in right now, and boy does he deserve that!! So yesterday bright and early I went and got my hair redone by a friend and cut :) so I guess I will include a pic of that. I have zero self confidence so sorry the pic is terrible!! but Lexi had a blast trick or treating! She was laughing, smiling, and screaming most the time and it was so cute! She kept reaching in her candy bucket like she knew what the candy was ha! silly girl!! She is way cute! Then we stopped by some family and headed home. Lexi had her first sucker last night and unfortunately I don't have any pics! She devoured it! She was down to the tootsie roll in like no time at all! Then she accidentally dropped it and screamed bloody murder for about 15 mins!! It was crazy! I don't know if it was worth the sticky mess ha! Weekend Recap: Better Late than ever, ehh??

This last weekend we had a super crazy busy weekend! Friday we went shopping with Aimy and Mali in Hammond and had a blast!! Then we headed off to Bass Pro (which apparently is the teenage hangout spot, haha so funny to me!!) for traps and off to Target for Lexi's big girl carseat!!! :'( I can't believe she is old enough for a big girl carseat already!! Then we came home and hung out and sorta prepared for the weekend ahead! Saturday morning we had Eliana's first birthday party, which I took like 5 pics, whoops! Mom fail!! And we also carved pumpkins with Mike and Gabby and then we went on a date night and Lexi was babysat by her YaYa for the first time! We were going to go to the movies but we didn't have time cuz carving took too long so we just went to the french quarter and then to Harrah's. Mike is 24 and Gabby just turned 21 and they were casino virgins so we had to break that ;) We seriously had a blast and it was much needed! And Lexi did great so it was a win win! Then Sunday we had Lexi's cousin Roy's Second bday party out by the bayou! They had a bounce house on Saturday fr the babies and Lexi went in but didn't really pay too much attention. Then Sunday they had a big one and I got in with her and we all had a blast!! Sunday on the way home we stopped by April's house and I got to hold lil man and give him lovings!! I will be going back this week since this last visit was such a short one!! Here is our weekend in pics!

So I have been really thinking lately of something that I can do for fun and to make a little extra spending money, I mean I have a little girl to spoil even more than she already is! ha!! I have been looking into Scentsy and Thirty one. I really like both companies but don't really know too much about either! I am talking to the hubs tonight and seeing where he stands on the issue!! D0es anyone sell either of these or have any experiences with them that they would like to share? If so, thanks in advance!!
Lexi is a little fuss monster today so I have gotten nothing done, oh well that is okay with me :) I think she has another few teeth coming through! I feel and see 4 but they haven't broken through yet! She just recently started grinding her teeth and I hope it a passing phase because it is the worst sound ever!! And that can't be good!! She is such a little hamlet it never ceases to crack me up with the silly things she does!
This is totally random but I was talking to my mom this morning and she was telling me about two girls that I graduated with that are both prego again and on their second child!!! I am like amazed right now! One girls baby is younger than Lexi, I believe he is around 7 months and she is far enough along that she knows she is having a girl!! And the other one just got married, has a year and a half old and is around 10 weeks prego! That's insane!! I can't imagine, nor do I want to think about a second baby and these girls are expecting again! I would lose my mind! I guess all children are a blessing from the Lord though!
My friend April had her little man last Thursday and he is so adorable!! I love him!!! He was 8lbs 2oz and 21 inches! They were expecting him to be 10 lbs but they were a little off. She had complications but is doing much better and both mommy and baby are home safe and sound! We stopped by on Sunday to drop off something real quick and I got to hold him! He was so sweet! He seemed like a little preemie but they said he was really 8lbs. I think the scale was off ;) lol
Thats pretty much all we have going on. Oh and if you are already Christmas shopping then check out Toys r us. Little Tikes has this deal going on where if you buy something over $25 then you can get a toy for under $25 then it is free! That is such a great deal! Now I just have to talk the hubs into it ;)

Lexi's first birthday is quickly approaching us and it has me running around like a chicken with my head cut off! You see I have been planning this for months but things seem to have fallen through s now all the plans have changed!! And if you know me at all, I don't do well with changing of plans, especially this close to the day! Ahhhh! So I have been freaking out but I think it is finally coming together. I am calling to book it today, so hopefully that goes good and putting the final finishing touches on her invites!! I have also decided to start working on her bday outfit! I have had what I wanted her to wear in my mind since literally the day she was born haha! I am a big big planner!! So now I am starting to get things together to make it happen! I am way way excited but also nervous that it isn't going to turn out exactly as I am wanting it to! I guess we shall see. Pictures to come!
Yesterday I was washing bottles and Lexi was really quiet so I looked to see what she was up to. Low and behold she was WALKING into the living room from the kitchen!! Um wait, when did this happen?? She has been taking steps but she really shows little to no interest in walking. Now I am noticing she just doesn't want us to see her because as soon as I acknowledged her she dropped to the ground so fast and started crawling!! She acted as if I had never caught her, haha what a silly girl! I was really secretly hoping that she would walk before her party because if not it isn't going to be any fun so maybe she will?? I guess time will tell! I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't though because she is so very content crawling!! I need to post about our wonderful weekend but the craft bug has hit me pretty hard so that will have to wait :)

Worry & Fears; Part One

So I am not so sure of this post, actually I am kind of scared, but I think I am just going to do it and maybe someone can relate. Hopefully no one thinks differently, but this is just the truth!
Worry is my major downfall and my biggest weakness. I am the worry wart, nervous nelly, whatever you would consider it, and as I have gotten older (married & baby) it has gotten worse and I feel it is beginning to take over my life. I am not sure what my deal is, but it is so scary!! I am ready to be over and past this stage in my life. So now I am going to fill you in, please don't hate me now, I am just being honest!!
So I have a huge huge huge ( I really can't say huge enough right here) paranoia of getting sick, mainly throwing up. It doesn't really make sense to me because as I have gotten older throwing up really isn't as bad as I remember it. I mean yeah it sucks, but you throw up and get over it. No big deal. Well apparently in my head it is a much bigger deal. Every year (mainly starting last year the worst, but it has been previous years as well) when flu season approaches I start to get nervous about getting the flu. Very nervous and paranoid about it. I literally just want to stock up on everything so I can coop us up in the house for the whole flu season, just in case! Now I think some of this might be due to Ryan being in contact all.the.time with general public, day in and day out, that makes me nervous. What if he carries some sickness home to Lexi and I? Also, I am a mommy, I don't get 'time off' or 'sick days' and it scares me if I was to get sick what would happen to Lexi? I wouldn't be able to get better quickly, I wouldn't be able to do anything for her, and What if she gets sick from me? As you can tell, I am very worried about this. But it isn't just about flu season, this is a daily thing. I make my self sick worrying! When I leave the house, I worry if I am going to get car sick. When we go places I worry if I am going to get sick while we aren't home. Going to the doctors office could give me a panic attack. The ER is a nightmare for me!! I am also a hypochondriac!! I am CONSTANTLY worrying about this. Can anyone relate to me? Or am I just a freak?? It has seriously gotten BAD BAD BAD. really beginning to affect my life and I want to stop it NOW! I have been praying alot about this lately, as i am starting to get worried. I think I am going to get some bible verses about worry and just pin them up around the house and as soon as I start to get worried to just immediately start praying.

This is going to be a bullet type of post because that is where my thoughts are!!!
*Anyone have suggestions on books on positive discipline? Lexi seems to be going through a 'terrible twos' stage at the wodnderful age of 10 months!! How does this happen you ask? I am not really sure but she is unfortunately there!
*I am in the process of reading 'No cry sleep solution' so we shall see how this goes. Hopefully well because this sleep exhausted mama needs some serious sleep. Our current situation just wasn't cutting it for us anymore :/
*I am super duper sad & hurt by some situations with my parentals, eh I guess I will get over it!!
*We have a super duper busy weekend ahead of us and I am pretty excited :) It is going to be a blast!!
*I have been working on my little business alot lately and I have been up to some new crafts so hopefully I get around to posting that tomorrow :)
*I am super excited but yet so nervous about my new business!! Ah I guess it is normal feelings but I am so nervous!!!

Planner Hype...

Well I have fallen into the Erin Condren planner hype and now I ~~need~~ want one so very badly!! Now if only I could justify to the hubs that it is necessary :) haha probably not guna happen :/ Even with the discounts and codes and such it is still a little expensive in my opinion! I guess I will just have to get a regular old planner and make that work, now that I have the idea in my head :) haha!! And the crazy thing is none of my IRL friends know who or what I am talking about but in bloggie land people are like 'you DON'T know what an Erin Condren planner is?? Do you live under a rock?!' haha so funny!!

So lately I have been wanting to meet up with some blog friends. Now if only we didn't all live a gazillion miles away from one another it would be fine. Eh I guess that is life!! Anyone else feel this way or is it just me?! I think I am going to a huge photo recap tomorrow bc I haven't posted many pics of the cupcake baby lately!!

Sleep Training Recap!

We have been sleep training for the past 5 nights and I hope not to jinx it but it has been going good, much better than I expected!! We decided that our best approach was the no cry sleep solution, to put her bed in the highest setting and next to our bed, and to get her into a nighttime routine again since ours went out the window with the move. We start getting her ready for bed at 7ish by giving her a bath and just playing in the tub with her. She got a new ducky toy for the tub that she loves and dances to haha it is so funny! The girl loves to move!! We also give her daily vitamins in the tub because she has the tendency to spit them out. We get her outta tub and dress her then give her sippy cup with milk and get her book ready. Ryan and I take turns reading her books at night, then we both give her kisses. I put the boppy in the bed with her, to make it feel like we are still there and I think that has helped drastically! After her book is read, kisses, and playing a bit we lay her down and I lay next to her and usually withing 10 mins she is dead asleep! This is a great accomplishment for us and has given us both a little down time to ourselves and together! She usually sleeps til about 2:30-3:00ish and then crawls right up in bed by me and goes right back to sleep til between 7 and 8 then she is up for the day! I was very very shocked with how well she did, I was expecting this to be a fight but in all reality it has been great!!

We have had a weekend full of fall festivities, and it has been the most fun weekend that I can remember having in a very long time, it was way overdue!!! We made a scarecrow, made caramel and candied apples, found a new church (which is a post in iteslf), decorated the house fall-y, went to the pumpkin patch, and just had an overall perfect weekend!! Misdiagnosis

Gasp! The ER doctor MISDIAGNOSED my cupcake baby! Excuse my language but I was PISSED! Yesterday we went in to our pediatrician for what I thought was the second round of the flu vaccine and we couldn't even get it! You see, yesterday morning Lexi woke up with no fever (score!!) and feeling almost completely back to normal except at 9ish she developed a rash! Great, I thought. So we see the doctor and he says she had the roseola virus and asked if the ER doctor ran any tests or anything. Nope, negative, nada just told us we wasted his time. Thank God it wasn't anything major or that would be malpractice on his part? But She is doing much better, still has a rash but no fever and back to normal! Very thankful for that. Oh BTW, any fever over 101 isn't teething so if someone tells you this, don't fall for it!
Anyways, Lexi co-sleeping hasn't been working out for us lately and last night was the straw that broke the camels back. Needless to say, neither her nor I slept but maybe 2 hours! So crazy! So I started my research into the No Cry Sleep Solution and ordered the book from Amazon this morning. I think I am going to order Dr. Sears sleep book as well, I agree with alot of his ideas and ways to raise kids! I also discovered while researching that I have a 'high needs' baby. It's nothing I did wrong (which I always blame myself for) it is just her personality! Big relief off my shoulders! Thank you Dr. Sears for clearing that up for me!! So tonight starts our journey in sleep training. I think it is going to be an epic fail but trying to be hopeful! Keep us in your thoughts and wish us luck, we are going to need it!! I am going to be doing a huge pic update coming up very soon. I have just been lazy lately haha!

Teething Sucks...

This has been a long, rough, and exhausting weekend and I am hoping this isn't a look into our upcoming week! thursday night all night Lexi was warm but never had a fever. She woke up Friday morning with the same thing going on and I kept a close eye on her. She was slowly getting warmer but then at 9:30ish she was 101.5!! I called the doctor and he said that was really hot for her age so he wanted us to bring her in and get her checked. We live an hour and a half from our doctor and I talked to him at 10:10 and he wanted us in there fr 11:30!!! We made it 7 mins late! but I have never gotten myself and Lexi ready that fast including packing the diaper bag, I was very proud! haha! So we get there and spend a whole 5 mins there and he checks her out and says she is good its just teething & maybe possibly fighting a cold. He said if she got as high as 102 but was eating, drinking, peeing, & poohing, then to just wait it out and see what happens and if Monday (when we go in for our second flu shot) she still isn't better he will look further. So we hung out with some friends instead of just turning around and driving another hour and a half straight. Well all day Friday she was just calm and relaxed and outta it. She wasn't happy, smiling, spunky, needy normal self. She was just there, I was a nervous wreck all day to say the least, checking her temp like every 5 mins! (must be a nervous new mom thing?) Well we went to bed Friday night about 10pm and from 10pm-12pm she was waking up every 10-12 mins and we were still monitoring her fever very closely because she felt very very hot!! At 1am she was 103.2! I pretty much freaked out and said screw what he said we are going to ER now!! So we took her into the ER and waited forever and when they took her temp it was only 102.3 and she was acting okay. They gave her Motrin while we were waiting to see the doctor (a whole lot of it...) When we finally saw the doctor he was asking all the questions and was like 'okay well why are you here then?' I am thinking in my head, seriously are you asking me why?? He says 'well she doesn't have any symptoms other than a fever so why are you here?' Me trying not to flip out 'because she had a 103.2 fever and that's too high for me to feel comfortable!' He then goes on checking her and pretty much tells us that we shouldn't have taken her in and that its still just teething. He said we need to be staggering Motrin and tylenol, which freaks me out, that is alot of medicine and she is so small for her age! So he sends us on her way and we get home and are getting ready for bed. Lexi was wired from the motrin and was throwing her nunu and every time she would throw it she made this cute little noise, it was hilarious and cute!!!! So we went to sleep and headed out to Gretna fest. Her fever broke yesterday morning at 3am due to the motrin and didn't return til 3pm in the afternoon. Then from then on til this morning around 8 she was just running warm around 99. Well yesterday she was so calm and relaxed and just out of it, again not my child! We figured she was just tired from the teeth and such. Today her fever has been gone all day but she hasn't been drinking very well and slept all day. We go back tomorrow and I am going to insist he figures out what is wrong. I don't think its teething, I mean she is teething but 103.2 is extremely high! Especially for a baby her age!! Hopefully he gives us some answers of some sort tomorrow. I have been a nervous wreck ever since then and will continue to be until I get my happy, spunky, normal baby back! Please keep us in your prayers :)))

10 months already?1?!?!

Oh Lexi Lynn how I can barely believe that you are 10 whole months old today! This month you have been up to so much and been so busy! I am interested to see what this next month brings, however if you decide to slow down time I am completely alright with that! You are our world and even though this month you have been much fussier than normal you mean so much to us and our worlds would be upside down without you!! You are the greatest thing that has happened to us and we are so blessed and thankful to be your parents! We love you so much baby girl and fall more and more in love with you everyday!! Here is what you have been up to!!

Eating:

You are now on half milk, half formula but are about to make the switch completely to milk!

You eat a whole lot of food in a day and are great at feeding yourself!!

You are loving big girl food!

You learned how to drink outta a straw 10-1-2011 and now have your first straw sippy cup!

You drink about 4oz juice/4oz water a day and love it!

You are still a puff monster haha!

We are in the process of cutting the bottle out completely, you don't really mind much except at night

Movements:

You are still a crawler, you seem to be very very content doing that.

You have started crawling with your feet instead of knees, which is hysterical every.single.time!!

You pull up on everything taller than you!

You have taken baby steps a couple times but fall over!

You stand on your own all the time!! & clap your hands while doing it!

You push your walker around like it is nobody's business!

You are soo very close to walking i can taste it, this saddens me!

Yesterday you took your first solo step to your daddy! Go Lexi!!
you have climbed the stairs on the slide many times, you succeeded your first try, not sure how though!!

Sleeping:
You are still co-sleeping & we are going to break you prob around a year! It works for us.
You go to sleep anywhere between 7 and 9 and have been sleeping thru the night til 7amish.
You still take usually 2 good 1 1/2 hour naps sometimes with a 3rd 30 min one!

Randoms:
You are wearing 3-6 month & 6 month onesies & 6 months clothes. You are a tiny peanut!
I am about to switch you to 6-9 month onesies bc of your cloth diaper butt!
You are quite the little babbler, mom, dada, and baba are your main words!
You have said ew, nana, go and hi. I can't remember the others!
You are a very big cuddle bug and a major mommy's girl!

We have a courageous climber!

My child is quite adventurous, I am not sure where she gets it from because I am a scaredy cat, but she seriously freaks me out sometimes!! Today we had a playdate and the girl climbed up the stairs on the slide multiple times, this isn't the first time either! Where she learned to climb stairs is beyond me, we don't have stairs so I guess she just tried and succeeded maybe? I was too busy protecting her to tape it haha but believe me, it happened! She has been spending lots of time with Mali and Mali is a year and 2ish months and Lexi is more courageous than her, which is kinda funny! The girls get along so well it is hilarious! Yesterday they were both trying to get into the kid lock ahaha!
So today at the play area I was bout to ~~knock a kid out~~ freak out! There was this little girl who was at least 5 if not older and she was HITTING, KICKING, YELLING, etc at my 10 month old. She would block the tunnel Lexi was trying to climb through, steal the toys she was playing with, just all kinds of stuff! She was such a bully! Her mother wasn't watching her and didn't seem to care. I seriously considered punching the kid in her face, I wouldn't have done it but still. How would you react to this situation? It was seriously ridiculous and I was completely stunned!
On another note Lexi has taken a liking to older children. She won't play with her younger friends anymore, only the older ones! It is so funny! And she is so very close to walking!

What we have been up to!

We have been pretty busy since we moved to our new little place! We packed up one house, loaded it into a U-haul, unloaded and unpacked all in 5 exhausting days! Well the loading and unloading was just one day but you know what I mean haha! Lexi is very very close to walking. She stands on her own all the time now and has been taking baby steps here and there but chickening out! I am not ready for her to walk at all!! She is on half milk and half formula (our decision, it is what we think is best!) and eating table foods and feeding herself! She just amazes me how big she is now! It seems like just yesterday she was born! She is babbling like crazy saying words here and there but then not repeating them! But she is adorable, we love her!! No more teeth, but we are dealing with the molars coming in and that has not been fun at all! She will be 10 months is 2 days! We have been hanging out with our new friends Aimy and Mali alot- at least 2 times a week! It has been so fun and such a blast! We are finishing up our bucket list today and then we will start checking things off together! It has been turning into fall kinda! Very excited about that bc the girl has some a-dor-able fall outfits and I can't wait for her to wear them! Love them! I have been working on my business alot lately and learning my sewing machine and embroidery machine! I will be opening an etsy shop soon and also will be doing my first craft show in November! Very nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time! Praying I do well! The hubs job has been great and he loves it! We are loving our new little country town, its so homey and nice!! Hope everyone else is doing great!!!

This weekend was a great bday weekend!! A bbq friday night with some great friends! I didn't even take any pics bc it was so busy! There were 5 babies the youngest 8 months and oldest 10 months! The kids had as blast as did the parents!! We were up pretty late and Lexi slept by herself from 12-4!! Score! We woke up Saturday morning and just hung out, I started to figure out my embroidery machine and what I would need to get started. Lexi woke up at 8 to eat then back to bed until 11:30! She was a tired baby from the night before. Then my friend April and I took a trip to Hancock fabrics to get what I needed, it was very overwhelming but I got almost everything!! Then I came back here ate, went visit my grandpa and Great Aunt and we were supposed to head to a baby shower but instead went to spend some more bday money! We headed to Bed, Bath, and Beyond (which reminds me of Click everytime i go there, ha!) and bought two little black storage ottomans and a little desk for my newest bday present :) its very cute and I got a killer deal on all of it! Once we get settled in the new house, I will post pics! Then we came home, Ryan and Lexi napped and I worked on embroidery machine, and later that night we headed to the casino which was so lame!! I waited 21 years in anticipation for that? Wowzers!! I didn't even have a single drink this weekend, ha! but thats okay with me, alcohol isn't my thing at all! Yesterday we went and got our new temporary place and headed home to pack. Gabby, Mike, and Neela came over to hang out before we move TOMORROW! yep you heard me right, we are moving tomorrow!! On our way to the temp house yest our landlord txt us with fantastic news- he rented out our side and we are out of the lease as of Oct 1st!! God is Good!! Such a blessing!!! So I bought some packing tape and beer for the hubs last night and headed home to pack. Today I am supposed to be packing but some adorable little 9 month old doesn't think its necessary! We are beginning to move tom morning at 7:30 and I am going to be up all night packing bc I have only half the house packed ha!!
So blogging is going to be hit and miss for now until we get settled and internet and all that jazz, so please bare with me! Hope everyone has a blessed week!!

Friday Pre-Birthday Fun!

Today I got my embroidery machine in and can't wait for the hubs to get home so I can open it! I have already bookmarked some things I want/need for it! I did a little advanced shopping ;) Tonight we are having a bbq to celebrate my bday some great friends! there will be lots of babies, food, and fun! I am very excited!! Tomorrow I have a baby shower and am going to do birthday shopping with the family! and maybe dinner and a movie with the hubs if someone can watch Lexi! Sunday we are going check out a temporary house til we find someone to rent the house we are currently in. We have pretty much decided to move in there, the landlord just needs to meet Lexi and I so that's what we are doing Sunday! Then if everything works out like we are expecting Tuesday and Wednesday will be moving day! I think what we are going to do is clear out almost this whole house and move everything to the new place and give this one a really good cleaning, so its ready when the landlord shows it. Then when it is finally rented we will prbably get the rest of the stuff out then and move it to storage! Lots of work but so worth it. Excited, nervous, and anxious for this new chapter in our lives! Hope everyone has a great weekend, we are off to finish cleaning and packing!!

Banning of the Birthday!

This has been one crazy week and I am so ready for it to be over! it has been terrible, seriously! this is my birthday week and it was supposed to be a good one and so far to be quite honest, it has SUCKED! From sickness, to busted lips, to Lexi deciding my iphone needed a bath, to yeast rashes and stripping of cloth diapers and switching to sposies til its cleared up, to my mother in law pushing me to the limit and me losing it! I am just going to be thankful for my blessing and do a thankful post. But last year my bday week was terrible and i got in a car accident pregnant, on my bday, in my bday present and this year the week of it has been terrible so I don't think it is safe for me to drive on Saturday. I told the hubs and my mommy they should just ban my bday and I think its a great plan!!
Today I am thankful...
*My wonderful hubby and beautiful baby girl
*Lexi is 17 lbs and 8 oz, 27 inches, with a 17 1/2 inch head circumfrence! Which puts her in the 25th percentile for weight, 23 for her length, and 21st for her noggin (even though i think her noggin is huge ha!)
*that the hubs got me an embroidery and sewing machine for my bday! i am SO ECSTATIC!!! he is such a great hubs!
*for friends that will bring you and your baby to dr appt just because your hubs has the car
*my mommy and daddy who love me very much!
*contact with my nanny who I haven't heard from in years!!
*great friends in general!!

*the funniest moment so far was I was cooking dinner and watching you in your room and you were trying to climb in your toybox and get a toy at the bottom, well you got stuck on the edge and your body was teeter tottering back and forth and you were fussing. it was the funniest thing ever! You did the same thing that night on the case of water ha!
*you stood on your own unassisted for the first time September 1st! then clapped for yourself ha!

Teeth, Attitude, Misc.

*you have 7 whole teeth and 2 more that we can see- wozers! you are going to be eating steak at a year! ha

* we caved and bought you the amber teething necklace- it really helps! much better!

*you have such an attitude- its ridiculous! not even kidding! i dont know where you get it from! ;)

* at the dr last week you wanted to get down and crawl and I wouldnt let you so you threw your head back and screamed at the top of your lungs! i was so embarassed!

*if you are doing something you shouldnt be and I say 'no maam' you shake your head 'no' at me and continue doing it.

*when i tell you 'no maam' you laugh hysterically at me. you do this to daddy sometimes

*you have started dancing and its so sweet! you will stand on the entertainment center and shake your little booty and shrug your shoulders.

*when we ask you questions or why you shrug your shoulders- its so cute!

*lately you have been finding your puffs, opening the container, pouring them out on the floor, and then eating them! ha! you are a smart little cookie.

*you are quite the little talker- definitely get this from me! you are shy about talking though!

*you talk around mommy all the time and daddy ocassionally but anyone else not really.

Clothes and Diapers

*you are in 3-6 month onesies and some 6 month onesies

* cloth diapers and we love them!!

*you are wearing anywhere between 3-6 and 6-9 dress clothes. getting big!

Overall, you have learned and grown so much this month its crazy and we are loving every minute of it! you are such a joy and blessing and we thank God for you! we love you beautiful cupcake baby!

First Boo Boo & one ridiculous nervous mama!!

So This is my bday week and its off to a terrible start already :/ I am not feeling so hott and Lexi got her first big boo boo :/ and now I feel absolutely terrible for her.
So this morning Lexi Lynn was playing and her carseat was on the floor. She went over and played in it like usual and I was walking over to grab her so that she wouldn't fall and bust her face. Well when I walked over there she got way excited and flew forward and pretty much ejected herself outta the carseat onto her face, particularly her mouth. I ran over and grabbed her and her little mouth was bleeding. I was checking to make sure that her teeth hadn't gone through her lip, and thank God they hadn't. As soon as I picked her up she began to calm down. I got a cold rag and put it in her mouth and gave her a bottle to calm down and see if she would drink. She didn't bleed much at all and took her nunu, drank milk, and was her normal chipper self. I don't know if I should take her to the ER or not. The drs obv closed bc it's Labor Day. I called him and he said that as long as she isn't bleeding and acting normal and eating or drinking she is okay. If she starts vomitting or sleeping alot to call him back. I am still nervous though. Is this normal mommy worries kicking in? I am really worried for her. She is crazy swollen and has this little pouch that looks like her teeth went in and came back out! I feel terrible :/

Oh and her 7th tooth cut through the gums this morning.
on that note, hopefully this bday week gets better!!!

Day 2 of T.S. Irene

We are alive and well over here, surviving T.S. Lee I am happy to report! We haven't lost power and we aren't flooding, such a blessing!! Yesterday morning we woke up early after tossing and turning all night due to the weather. The whole area was under tornado watches, just in case. We got dressed and went shopping bc we had nothing for this storm! We chose a perfect time to shop! There was barely anyone in the store and when we left we were in a break so we didn't even have to load up in the rain! woo hoo perfect timing! Lexi doesn't have a raincoat so we got creative. We put a robe on her, and it worked perfect since it was kinda chilly it served as a jacket as well! And boy did she look adorable! (i know, I am biased ha!) (she usually has her cart cover, promise! it was a quick trip, dnt hate lol)

and of course trying to escape and cheesing it up!

We came home and unloaded and took naps and pretty much just hung out. I took a trip to Michaels with my friend April, I was in need of a craft day! Didn't last long as my cupcake baby is going through some very serious separation anxiety! Poor little thing crawled back and forth through the whole house crying and looking for mama while I was gone! Then April and her daughter Adryan stayed and we talked and Adryan and Lexi played. Her husband Shannon came over and hung out with the hubs. I decided to cook fried chicken and fresh homemade fries for the first time (never again)!
Ryan's friend Larry came over and did some laundry since he was outta electricity and stayed for dinner and watched the LSU game. Ryan's mom and her fiance came over for dinner as well! My mother in law stayed the night because out where she lives is under mandatory evacuation orders so we offered to let her stay! Then we went over wedding plans and went to bed! Today has just been a lazy family day, which has been nice! We are supposed to have this storm til at least tom bc its just kinda lingering over us! All is well here though and we are praying for those who are flooding and outta power! Ryan was supposed to work Saturday but didnt bc the weather!

Tropical Storm Lee

Well we are approaching time for our first tropical storm of the season and the first tropical storm with Ryan and myself as a family and adults. I cant remember any from when I was little. With the move approaching we are completely outta food, like nothing at all! ha so tonight we are braving the grocery stores to get the bare necessities! Not looking forward to it but it has to happen. The governor said to prepare for the worst and pray for the best, so that is what we are doing! we are supposed to get like 2 feet of rain! thats insane! and supposedly this storm can linger around here for like 7 days! seriously thats a ridic amount of rain! and my bday is next sat so please stp raining before then, k thanks!!

choking- this is my new fear. my kiddo chokes, alot! she always has since she was born and the dr links this to her GERD but it hasnt gotten any better. She is really good about getting it up on her own but still makes me nervous. The hubs and I were talking last night and he thinks this means she isnt ready for the next stage food or snacks. I however disagree. he wants to pull her off snacks and keep her strictly on purees. I will certainly be discussing this with her ped next week. Then of course the hubs couldnt stop there- he had to continue to make me more nervous. and he says, well if she ever cant get it up call 911. 6 minutes without breathing and you suffer brain damage. oh and its super easy to die from choking. kay i realized this but never thought f it like that. now im totally freaked and thinking she might eat purees until she gets married! ha! but really is this normal to be this paranoid of choking now?

I dont really have another title in my head so this is what I am going with! It has been pretty lazy around here with no car so we have been house bugs lately! We made a decision to get a place to live where Ryan's job is because it is going to save us money that way. So I am packing here and there and trying to separate things between the 2 houses. Yes, I said 2 houses. We don't really have a choice so we are going to just leave this one behind and continue to pay rent and sign a year lease by Ry's job and save save save so that when that lease is up we can buy a house! We have prayed about it and think this is where we belong so we are following God's lead. It is kinda scary but every new adventure is!

Lexi is almost 9 months old and I can barely believe it!! Where has the time gone? My bday is coming up and bday plans are well under way! Shoot I can barely believe I am finally guna be 21! Completely legal woo and yes I am the youngest of my friends so now I dont have to get left out anymore ;) finally!!

Lexi is so funny! she is such a character. I am so thankful to Ryan for working so hard that I get to stay home and experience her firsts and milestones. This has always been my dream and its coming true! Thank you baby! love you!! well thats all that is really going on here! I guess I shall go and get packing some more!!

Halloween?

Halloween is a very touchy subject among Christians. When I was a little girl we weren't allowed to celebrate Halloween, we have never been trick or treating! We got ridiculed by fellow classmates and it was difficult for us- I think because we really didn't know why we weren't allowed to participate in Halloween. I always said I was going to let my kids participate in Halloween but now I am really debating if I am going to or not. When we were kids we could go to the church sponsored halloween events and we event went to this thing I think it was called the reality house but it was like you go through this house and watch yourself get into a car accident, and then they take you to this 'morgue' and you go through heaven and hell. When I went to this I was so excited!! After going through it I was shaken. It was very real and really made you think- they even gave you a death certificate with your name on it! talk about creepy!!! I had nightmares for weeks- I dont think i was old enough to experience that. It was scary! but anywho so now that this is going to be Lexi's first Halloween I am trying to decide if we are going to participate and t what extent if we do? Since we didn't get to go trick or treating every year we would get to pick 2 bags of candy and stayed home and safe and just hung out with our parents. How do you feel about your kids participating in Halloween? Are you going to limit it or go full out?
My biggest thing is God is our Saviour and I one day we are going to have to answer for the things we do and I am wndering if this is one I want to answer for just because our kids wanted to? Ryan wasn't allowed to trick or treat as well. I dont want t welcome anything un-Godly into our homes! I am thinking maybe carving pumpkins because that is a tradition with our family and really fun family activity! and maybe dressing up as a little farmer and going to the trunk or treat function at our church? and just instill in them why we dont fully celebrate Halloween? Ryan and myself are really going to have to discuss this to fully make a decision!

Wow is all I really have to say! I am STUNNED!!! and quite scared for my daughter to grow up in the effed up world! i think i might go start digging a hole to bury her in for the next 21 years! i kid i kid but really I am quite shaken you could say! I really didnt recognize 99% of the songs bc I mainly listen to christian but I knew a few.
*Lady Gaga really freaks me out- she is seriously like demon possessed and effed up in the head and like seriously when is she going to admit that she is a man? she was way drunk and so confusing. i hated her when she came out and my hatred for her now is worse! She is a disgrace to mankind and it truely breaks my heart that there are so many little girls that look up to her as a role model, that is just sick!!
*Let me just say that I love me some little Wayne voice, his voice to me is like aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa love it! but tonight, he disappointed me! big time! i wanted to tap him on his shoulders and tell him to watch his language and pull up his darn pants! seriously!
*Beyonce is GORGEOUS and I actually liked her show, ~~one of my fave~~ prob my fave, and i think it was adorable when she showed her baby belly at the end! so sweet!!!
*Justin Beiber? really? i know he is big and all but i was certainly shocked! but he can keep it bc he thanked God! :)
*Katy Perry- love her! She is the sweetest little thing and fairly modest! Her and her hubby seem like a strange couple but still very cute! She seems like a decent role model for young girls!
* Selena Gomez- she is a great young lady! she dressed modest, and was very sweet! she seems to have a great head on her shoulders! She is familiar to us becuase I Lexi watches the Disney channel frequently ha!

I think that is allI have to say. overall I was very disgusted! It made me worried for the world these babies are guna grow up in! seriously God put your hand on our daughter and give us wisdom when it comes to raising her so she is brought up knowing you as her savior and knowing right from wrong! Amen!

Upcoming 100th post!

I am coming up on my 100th post and that is crazy to me! I am so happy that I started this blog and document our ~~Family's~~ Lexi's life! I have met some wonderful ladies through this little journey and I am thrilled!! Sure I only have 10 friends, but thats okay with me! Ten is better than none! Awaiting Patience

Today I still find myself awaiting patience. There is so much going on around here and it is so stressful! you could really cut the stress and tension with a knife! Today we went house hunting. we looked at about 5 houses, but one really caught our eye. Our lease in the house we are in isnt up until next August so last week we talked to our landlord and he was okay with it and said he understood so we decided to move forward. So today we went house hunting. Well we found one we loved and we decided we liked it and were going to move frward and we get in contact with our current landlord and he says ' well you will be responsible for the rent here until your lease is up or someone else rents the house'. cricket,cricket. didnt we just talk to you a week ago and this was okay? why the change of heart? I am so frustrated and confused! We are stuck now. stuck here commuting everyday. Ryans job is well worth the commute but still this would have made our lives so much easier. I guess it isn't meant to be and is a blessing in disguise? But right now its hard to see! So I sit here awaiting patience and hoping and praying that someone calls interested in the house and wanting to rent it. That would be great! But until then I will sit here and await patience!

Future Kiddos??

To start this out, No I am not preggers!! But we have been talking about this topic alot lately! Some friends of ours daughter is 6 1/2 months old and they just found out they are pregnanct with baby #2!!! We are so happy for them! They are going to have their hands full but this baby is going to be another blessing for sure!! This sparked the talk even more for us! Ryan is ready now but I am not. Lexi wasn't and still isnt the easy baby, she is needy and was sick in the beginning and I am scared to have another Lexi. In no way do I regret having her, she is such a blessing and makes our worlds go round, we just dont have an easy baby! ha she learned frm me :) She is exactly what we need!! I just dont know that I can handle my Lexi and another Lexi! I have my hands full so how would that work?

Well I have a little sis and her and I arent best friends, nor friends in general, we dont get along AT ALL!! I want my kids to be friends, and I want them to be close. My sister and I are 3 years apart and I think the age gap is sme of the reason. Ideally I want my kids to be 1 1/2-2 years apart. My doctor said I need to wait at least a year for the next one so My body can heal completely. He said its too hard on my body, or anyones, to have them that closely. So we know Lexi will be at least a year old. Well the other part is I do have BC right now so that needs to be taken out as well. I don't have insurance at the moment (long story) so we have to wait (which I am totally fine with)!

So we came to the conclusion that at the beginning of the year we will begin trying and when it happens, it happens! This way the children will be close in age and friends but nt too terribly close! I am excited but nervous! ha! How far apart would your children be ideally? or if you already have some how far apart are they? Is it harder than expected?

Dr. Keith

Today we had our last dr visit with our beloved Dr. Keith. Going in I had a really great feeling that this was going to be our last one but wasnt for sure. Then we got there and he gave us 98% good news! Talk about breath of fresh air! We no longer will be seeing him unless problems arise! What a blessing! Lexi will be taken off of prevacid and Zantac (unless she needs it of course)! My baby girl is no longer on prescribed meds! I am sooooooooooooooo ECSTATIC!! He said her weight isn't the greatest but she is thriving. He is concerned about her height though but only time will tell. Her noggin is a big one! haha i say all those brains in there ;) Dr. Keith was an answered prayer! He gave us the answers we needed to hear, was honest with us, and was just a joy! I wishe we had more drs like him! He was so amazing!!

On another note, I have made the decision to cloth wipe and today I went to buy the material to make them tomorrow night! I am soo excited (its the little things)! I went back and forth on making them or buying them but I have officially decided to make them. And I saved myself about $10 and didnt have to settle for prints! amazing! <3 For now we will be using just a spray bottle of water but we will see. I might make the solution or possibly buy it. This is going to be much easier than running to the trash can in the kitchen with poopy wipes! Now i can just throw em in the pail or rinse if need! I also like saving money :) but who doesnt! I also decided today that I am getting a sewing machine for my bday for sure. That place was such an inspiration to me! I have so many ideas and many things i want to try! Now to decide which sewing machine :) Happy Tuesday!!

Miscellaneous Monday

Hope everyone had a wonderful and enjoyable weekend! We had a normal weekend because Ryan was actually off for a normal weekend for the first time in a year! He started his new job and things are already going great plus he is extremely excited! I am excited that he is excited!! Our weekend was so/so. Saturday we just hung out and did some much needed relaxing then we got dressed and ready to head to BR to look for a house. Well we loaded up and went to turn on the AC and there was none! seriously? we have had the car for about 2 months and the AC went out? Of course it wasn't under warranty but since Ryan used to work there they made GM cover it, thank God and got us this tiny tiny rental. Def not liking that and ready for my car back but the hubs likes the gas mileage! ha! Not so sure that we will be buying another GM vehicle though as this is the second one we have had probs with but thats another story!

Tomorrow Lexmesiter goes to see Dr. Keith for her check-up and I am hoping and praying that this is our last visit to him! I love him and all but seriously done with dr appts at childrens! On that note this weekend I wasnt feeling the greatest for some odd reason but It really made me thankful. I'm thankful that I have a healthy baby girl, hubby, and myself. Getting sick here and there stinks but I am thankful that I dont have a serious illness or something that makes me sick all the time. That in itself is such a blessing!

Im kind of sad, while we are house hunting the hubs will be staying with his cousin a few days during the week to save himself the trip. We are thankful for them opening their home because that is going to save some money and give the hubs some extra sleep but Lexi and I are selfish and not looking forward to it. Over the year of us living here our neighborhood has gotten quite iffy, I dont like it. And being home at night alone scares the shit outta me, much less in this neighborhood. I am thinking we might go stay with some of my family on those nights so I actually get some sleep!

wowzers i just realized that if you google certain things my blog will pop up with pics f my lil cupcake baby... ummm im kinda freaked out to be totally honest. I have cut back on posting pics but i might stop all together. how does everyone feel bout having their pics f their kids on google? am i being paranoid? if i put this blog to private would the pics still pop up on google? thanks for your input!

Lexi's Birth story!

(i know this is like 8 months late but hey better late than never! i want to remember these things and it might be graphic, so you have been warned! this is more for myself)

Lexi's Birth Story

I was a nervous wreck! I swore up and down she was coming early and she ended up coming 4 days late! ha she was def on her own schedule and was showing us what was up!!

It was a Monday, 3 days after my due date, and I had a dr appt to set up my induction date which was to be that Wednesday! I should have known something was up because my dr didnt tell me what time to be there, not to eat, etc. but of course out of excitement this didn't click with me! Anyhow, he checked me and I was at a 3. (I started dilating at 37ish weeks and she had dropped crazy low at 36 weeks. I had also lost my plug at 37 weeks) Well when he checked me I had heard a pop but didn't think about it. On the way walking to my car I started to have cramps that felt diff than braxton hicks and I was calling my mom to update her ( my parents live in Missouri and my mom was attempting to make it there for the birth, its a 12 hour drive) She said her plan was to leave that night at midnight and drive in so she could get here early and we could grocery shop and spend time together before Lexi arrived. I told her she should just go ahead and leave just in case but my daddy wouldnt let her, he said she needed sleep first. Well I went about my day like nthing was wrong continuing having contractions on and off but not painful at all just crampy. At about 8 the hubs and I decided we were tired and heading to bed. We went to lay down and I was hurting to bad to sleep so I decided I would start timing these just in case they were the real thing by sme crazy chance. Come around 11pm and I was talking to my MIL and at this point they were 5-7 mins apart since 8pm. I wasnt in pain to bad so I figured it was just braxton hicks playing tricks on me again. Well the MIL insisted I go to the hospital just to get checked. I decided I was going to clean the house up, do the dishes, pee, get ready, etc and she wasnt having it. So I decided to just pee and get ready to go figuring I would be home later to clean up. When I went to the bathroom I noticed blood (my bloody show) and decided I needed to go to hosp to get checked out just in case. My MIL loaded me up and we let the hubs sleep bc he had work the next day and off to L&D we went!

I was already pre-registered because I was going in for induction Wednesday so I headed straight to L&D. My MIL drove like a mad crazy lady and freaked out the whole entire time haha I was as calm as could be! I called my mom and filled her in telling her I would keep her updated. We got to L&D and they checked me and much to my surprise I was 4cm dilated and in ACTIVE labor! Wow seriously? I was so shocked I asked my nurse if she was joshing me! ha! so I called my mommy immediately and told her to get on her way. You see my mom was in labor for 32 hours with me so she was expecting me to be in labor for a good while but she still sped the whole way just in case. I then called the hubs and tld him it was finally really time!! Everyone was just in shock at this point. My nurse came in and asked if i was ready for my epidural and antibiotics and I said hell yeah! I am not the type of person that wants to be in pain if I dont have to so I opted for the epidural. I admire you ladies that push these babies out with zero meds, but that just isnt me!!! So I got my epidural and antibiotics and fluids as well and we waited and waited and waited. Insert some violent shaking in here and vomiting but I barely remember all that jazz. Well they checked me at about 5 am and I was 7cm dilated and starting to feel pain so they gave me more in my epidural an I was a happy camper from here on out. My mom is still on her way mind you! Well then my dr comes in at about 7:45am to check up on me and see how I was progressing bc he had a scheduled c-section at 9am. When he checked me I was at an 8 and he decided to break my water and see what happens. He came in at 8:55 and checked me and I was fully dialated and ready to push! I couldnt feel how I was pushing or if I was doing it right but I tried so hard bc I didnt want him to have to turn my epidural off. I pushed three times and Lexi was born at 8:03am!! She had to be pulled out with forceps that last bit though because she had her chord wrapped around her neck :/ She also had meconuim in her mouth so I couldnt stimulate her. They put her on my chest to check her out and then took her right away! it seemed like they had her forever! ryan got to cut the umbilical chord which I was so happy about and he got to hold her first because my dr was still working on me! (one thing i dont want to remember but it needs to be noted, my MIL was next to my drs head the whole time lexi came out and was more emotional than ryan and myself and ruined the whole experience but thats another story) Our little cupcake baby was 7lbs 5.4oz just like her mommy had guessed exactly!!! I just knew it :) This was our birth story and I was very pleased with how everything went down! I loved my dr and will be using him for the rest of our kiddos! He was AMAZING! He then went on to say how proud he was, he was expecting me to be crazy and loud but he said I was one of his most enjoyable deliveries :) It was also his bday (lexi was the first baby he actually delivered n his bday!) and he was talking about where he was going to eat dinner at that night haha it was funny and definitely lightened the moood! He also said that he knew I would be quick and easy because she was so low so early and I was cmplaining about the pain :) apparently thats super painful! (i felt it, believe me, just didnt see the point in complaining)

These are all verses and sayings that I grew up on and I remember them like it was yesterday! When my mom used to say patience is a virtue I would laugh and say 'yea mom, a virtue in which I lack, hahaha!' which was so true! Patience wasn't and still isn't my strong point! God is clearly working on me in this area because my patience is truly being tested in many areas! They say that when you ask for patience you will be served with a good dose of learning it and even though I didn't ask for it I am beginning to learn it! I pray I am strong and to lean on God and he will get us through this, no questions asked! We serve and loving and giving God! Thank you Jesus!!

Not too terribly much happening over hear lately! This last weekend the best friend and her bf came in for a couple days to celebrate her 21st bday! The weekend was crazy hectic, but very fun! We had a blast and made lots of memories! It was also our first time leaving Lexi but she did wonderful, didnt even cry! Way to go Lexi!

Yesterday we started Lexi on sme new foods and she isnt so sure of them! We gave her veggie straws and stage 3 chunky foods. She knows to chew but she doesn't like the food so she wont eat it. She is at a stand still with food, all she wants to eat is junk and I am not sure how to approach this! The girl loves food, snacks, juice, etc. but turns her head to formula. She has prob at the most 3-4 6 ounce bottles of formula a day! We are also in the process of switching completely to sippy cup but we still have lots of time, so we arent pushing it. She is also beginning to break the nunu habit all on her own! this is bittersweet because now its harder to comfort her but I am so happy I wont have a 2 year old running around with a nunu!

Ryan just got a new job which is such a blessing! Of course, we are kind of nervous with finances b/c it is new and we arent sure and with just one income we get nervous but God never fails his people and we are putting our trust in him! We will also be buying another car for Ryan to commute (its a little over an hour) but for the time being we will have just one vehicle :/ We are prob going to have to end up moving for a couple reasons! I am nervous about this b/c we have a lease until next August, but you have to do what you have to do. The houses where we will be moving are much cheaper so we will have a bigger house (which we totally need) and I am excited about that! Just nervous about it all!

I think that is pretty much all that is going on lately! How is everyone else doing?

Big Girl!

Oh how my lil Lexi is turning into such a big girl! It makes me soo happy and proud but alsoo so sad! She has 5 teeth now, yes 5!! Saturday night we had ourselves a MAJOR breakdown. she screamed at the top of her lungs for 2 hours straight, nothing would calm her down and i think its due to the teefers popping through even more!! so i broke down and bought an amber teething necklace finally and i also found out the Hylands finally put their teething tablets back on the market after the voluntary recall and I am so happy!! We hvent had to use them yet, I think this is due to the necklace, but we will see!

We are at an eating stump in our journey and I am stumped!! Lexi has been eating an equivalent to 8 jars of baby food daily (i still make almost all her food), lots of puffs, and juice twice daily. Well she has been quitting her formula bottles. She has maybe 3 a day!! thats crazy to me! she just doesnt like the formula. I am not sure how to approach this. We have kinda been going with the flow and feeding her solids frequently and as much as she would eat, and letting her snack and also giving her juice. The thing I am wondering is if it okay to do this?She is only 8 mos so she is still young. I would assume that it is, it might just be a little early but Im not sure. She is certainly eating enough, and is staying hydrated so is that what is important? Anyone gone through this?

Lexi stayed out for the first time Sunday night and did sooooooooo wonderful!! We are so very proud of her! Such a big girl, it was a much needed night out and we will be having more soon!!

My lil munchkin has 5 teeth!! Yes, you heard me right, 5 whole teeth! She has 2 top ones and 3 bottom ones! wowzers she is guna be eating steak at a year haha i joke, i joke! but Just wanted to let everyone knw i will be MIA the next couple days! The bestie and her boyfriend are coming in til tuesday to celebrate her 21st bday! we are going clubbing. going to french quarter. lots of eating. celebrating! visiting babies!! and all around having a good ole time! oh btw Laura had her baby girl and she is beautiful! 8 lbs 2 oz 20.5 inches long! oh and did i mention we are leaving Lexi for the first time? yeah im freaking out~ wish us luck! hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!

Loss, Birthday, and Weekending!

First of my best friend Cassity's Mimi passed this morning! She was in a fight against cancer and has been doing pretty badly lately and kept getting progressively worse. As sad and rough as it is they know she is in a better place. Please keep her and her family in your prayers, as this is still such a loss! Love you Cass, even though you never will read this hahaha! Rest in peace Mimi, gone but never forgotten!

My 21st bday is approaching us very quickly! Cassity turned 21 yesterday, Gabby turns 21 on the 14th, and I will turn 21 September 10th! I am so excited, not even to get drunk either cuz drinking totally isnt my thing but to be able to go eat the buffet at the casino :) haha sooooooooo pumped! <3 I already have my wish list planned out in my head. There are ~~many~~ a few things on it and I hope to at least get some ha! I dont really ask for anything for me and I may or may not want things fr myself and Lexi but hey I dont need anything! thats for sure. My wish list includes:

a sewing machine is the #1 thing I want
(these are in no specific order)
infantino eco sash baby carrier- I want the ergo but this is more in my price line and very similar
I want a diaper pail and 13 gallon trash can- haha im so lame!
i want to switch to cloth wipes :)
and we could also use a diaper sprayer :)
and I could use some clothes!

I guess that really isnt too terribly bad of a list, maybe I should get to working hard on some bows and maybe ill make a sale to get these things ;)

This weekend Cassity and her bf Adam are supposed to be coming in at 9:25 this Saturday but since the passing of Mimi we will see what happens! hopefully it all comes through because we have an action packed weekend but if not I understand!

Slacker!

I have been quite the blogging slacker lately and not by choice! My lovely hubs got a virus on my comp and it had to be repaired! But we are back and running now thank God!

It has been crazy around here lately! Many new and different things going on and happening! We need to figure a few things concerning jobs and finances and such but we are trusting God because this is all his plan! We I have been doing alot of research on cleaners and I am absolutely disgusted! Seriously how do these people market these things? Anywho so we I have made the decision that we are going to be making our cleaners and switching to all naturals! So this morning I took a little trip with the cupcake baby to the store to get the main ingredients that I needed and also a trip to the health food storE! It was very interesting everything that I learned! Also, Ashley really was the one who got me started on my research and this journey so she is fully to thank! She has taught me alot of useful things! Thanks girl :) I have found some really great recipes and if you are interested let me know and I will share!! I love the health benefits for this but the cost is another nice thing! Oh and the environment too I guess! The hubs isnt too happy about this. I mean I guess he really doesnt care but he called me a tree hugger! Call me what you want but I am doing what is best for our family and saving money at the same time so hey I think its a win win!

My Lil Lexi is getting so big, it amazes me every day! She does the funniest things ever and I cant help but share this one! Yesterday morning we had to bring Ryan to drop off his work van and on the way we got Sonics breakfast! Well when we came home I had some tots left so to get Lex out the car I put them in her diaper bag then put her fluffs on top of them. Well I went and took a nap and Ryan was supposed to be watching Lexi. Needless to say he wakes me up. Apparently lil Miss knocked the diaper bag over, went digging for the tots, and once she found them she dumped them out and smushed them into pieces she could eat and was shoveling them in her mouth! Oh my goodness what a chunk! She is so funny when it comes to food! love that girl! Lexi will be 8 months on Monday and will be starting meats so look for the tutorial on that one! Frustrated!

People's ignorance NEVER ceases to amaze me but OMG it sure frustrates me! There are many things this pertains to but one in general im about to flip out on.

Careless Moms: inform yourselves on carseat safety- a child is to be REAR FACING until ONE YEAR AND 20 LBS! The American Academy of Pediatrics is even recommending 2 years or until they reach the height and weight according to carseat! These 4 month old and 6 month old and 10 month old babies arent 20 lbs AND 1 year old! Seriously, we arent fighting our kid for candy here, we are talking about their safety! You wouldnt let your child play in the middle of the road when a car is coming so why are you turning them forward so early? Because theyre crying? Get over it! My child screams her head off in the car every single time we get in there because she hates it so much. But do you see me turning her forward to make her stop? Nope because I am informed on the regulations! It breaks my heart to hear her cry this whole time but I would rather her cry for 10 mins than never hear her cry again. You can get a ticket for this!! How are you going to feel if you get into a car accident and your child was hurt or God forbid killed because you were uniformed or careless? Would you be able to live with yourself? Just take a step back and think about it. I cant imagine losing my kiddo and I will do everything in my power to keep her safe, including keeping her rear facing as long as I need to!

This post isnt to anyone in the blog world, to be honest the people this is meant for will probably never read this but still I had to vent! Hope this didnt hurt anyones feelings, I am just being honest! Hope everyone had a blessed weekend!

Thankful is what I am feeling right now! I have such a great hubby! He may or may not drive me crazy all the time and that may or may not be his purpose in my life but one thing I can certainly say without a doubt is I am so thankful for him! {im totally kidding, he does drive me crazy sometimes but i like it :) } I don't say it or acknowledge it enough but I really do mean it! He is so many things and I am so thankful! He is a great husband, father, son, employee. friend, nephew, paranh, and just person in general. I am so thankful that he works so hard, even these crazy hours so that I can stay home with our little cupcake! That is such a blessing in general!

This man has made my dreams come true like you wouldn't believe! Marriage, a child, stay at home mom, you name it! He is so wonderful. As we speak he is working those crazy hours we spoke of. So this is to you Ry, We love you so much and are so thankful for everything that you do to us! You don't read my blog so you will probably never ever come across this but its stated! You are the BEST! thank you for everything! Love you baby! <3

Need I really say more??? ha but really if you are blessed with wonderful in-laws then just stop reading this pst now bc its not for you and you would be totally lost!

I have been blessed with less than wnderful in laws, to say the least! In my opinion, whoever invented in laws must have been really blessed or nuts! My hubby is an only child and he doesnt have a dad. He had a smewhat upbringing from what I understand. We were raised two different ways, I had a mom and dad who worked hard to give us the best life possible even though we didnt grow u[ around our immediate family. Ryans mom was a single mom and worked hard to survive and they lived very close to their immediate family. So as you can guess we have very different opinions of how to raise Lexi. This has brought much grief and tears to the family since Lexi was brn. Not exactly what I envisioned for our first baby!

It has been a more than rough road with her and it seems to never get better, its one thing after another. Ryan only knows his mom really so she comes first always. He always makes excuses for her, drops what he is doing for her, and pretty much our lives revolve around her. Im getting fed up with it lately. If you have probs with the inlaws how do you deal with them? Or if this isnt you how do you make your relationship all rainbows and butterflies with the in-laws? Thanks for listening!

Bad Mommy Night

Why in the world am I writing a blog post at 2 am you ask? Oh hello because my child STILL does not sleep through the night! I know, it is still early but seriously? A momma needs a break, bad! Why oh why is my 7 1/2 month old still wake up at this time EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT and scream and hollar just because? Why does she still think she needs a bottle at this hour? Because its a habit, and a hard one to break at that! This mommy is EXHAUSTED. Some of this is prob due to the factor that the hubs has never once gotten up with her, even on his days off but.. Anywho! Does anyone have any tricks to get the lil zombie to sleep? Help PLEASE I am begging of you!

We have been trying the Ferber method kinda but I am having more of a fight frm Ryan than Lexi- imagine that! But it doesnt work- she doesnt calm down and wants nothing to do with it. We have tried keeping her co-sleeping but she still wakes up EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT at the SAME.EXACT.TIME and does the SAME.EXACT.THING! Why oh Why! Something has to change or ima be jumping on the loonie train for sleep deprivation!

Tonight is just a bad night for me as a mommy! The good times far outweigh the bad and I just have to tell myself it will get better but that doesnt mean it will happen tonight or even tomorrow. I will be soothing my kid back to sleep til she ~~goes to college~~ outgrows it. Me and Ryan always joke she is going to come home from prom and jump in bed with us. but me now im really starting t believe it! Well night all, Im going try t ~~bribe~~ my lil one back to sleep!

Sunday Funday!

Today was our Sunday Funday and we had all intentions of going to early service-but that didnt happen due to Lexi's terrible sleep habits! boo! but we are working on that (actually as we speak) but thats another story. Today we had a terrible rain storm at our church and when I walked out with Lexi in my arms early to meet my friend Laura, by the time we got to the car we were both drenched! Some of this was due to the flooded parking lot but it was really raining that hard! I am so stinking sick of rain, you dont even know! It is time to be nice and sunny!!

Anywho, my friend Laura is due this Friday with her first baby and I couldnt be more excited fr her! They live about an hour and a half away but she will be delivering about 15 mins away frm us so we will certainly be visiting! Cant wait! But tonight we had some action at our house! We thought she might be going into labor! (I still think its the beginning stages but only time will tell! ) but her contractions were only 2 mins apart for about an hour, but they sadly went away :/ We loved having her here!! She is such a sweet person and is going to be a great mommy!

This week is a lng one for us, Ryan doesnt have a day off! This equals a very very tired mommy with a child trying t get used to her sleep training... but we will see how that goes! Hope everyone had a great weekend and has a wonderful and blessed week!

I have found a new love- Pinterest!!! wow talk about amazing! there are so many cool things on this site and I am getting so many amazing ideas for Lexi's 1st bday! Yes, I did say 1st bday! it is going to be here before we know it and I am feeling so behind! I have a million and one ideas in my head and I hope it turns out amazing! An amazing little girl like my cupcake deserves an amazing party!! but more on that later ;)

A very good friend has been having a little bow fiasco- and this saddens my heart! Her family and some friends are giving her problems and making rude unnecessary comments about her daughter wearing bows! That just breaks my heart! What is the world coming to? Little girls are supposed to wear bows! Now she isnt crazy like me with them so I can only imagine what they would think of me but my heart still hurts for her! Yes, little things like this really bother me! I take them to heart! but anywho, does anyone else have probs with people making rude comments about the bows? I have comments here and there but I ignore them and let them go in one ear and out the other!

I had a jewelry party hosted by my friend Brooke on Tuesday and we had a blast! We didnt have much of a turn out (3 people) but hey that is better than nothing. This is bc I have no friends really :/ but hey it happens! this made me so upset but then I realized you know what? I am thankful for the very few that I have! I got lots of cute jewelry as well :)

Lexi is getting so big and she just amazes me so much! She slept in her crib Monday night and she did pretty good! She slept there 3 hrs, our bed 3 hours, her bed 3 hours and finally our bed another 2 hours. this isnt straight sleep of course but a better start than I was expecting! the last two nights- no such luck! oh well, we enjoy her sleeping with us! it works fr us!

Tomorrow we have a water play date at our house with a new friend! it is going to be a blast, i just know it! hpe everyone has had a great week so far and safe weekend!

Before I even begin I just want to say that I am so blessed with Lexi and that we got pregnant with her and have a beautiful baby girl! She is such a blessing and means the world to me, even on weekends like this one has been. I wouldnt trade her for any baby in the whole world. I was catching up on my blogs and I was Reading Kelly's over at Little Looman Log and I feel like she just read my mind and spoke everything in there! Babies are HARD! They are so cute and cuddly and sweet it makes you wonder sometimes how they could possibly be so hard!

This morning when I took Lexi into the nursery (which lasted a whole 5 mins) I knew it was a bad idea because she had been crying and fussing since she woke up. Why? Who knows! I have determined that she is just a fussy baby and likes to cry. She cries when she is crawling, eating, playing, being held, anything! Could this be due to GERD? certainly! teething? thats a great possibility! sinus/allergies? im thinking so but still, today was rough! So in nursery I gt called back to get her and I was in there talking to the ladies who were there saying how first time moms kids are too spoiled, and how all we do is hold them all day, and just pretty much bashing first time moms and stay at home moms. I was so frustrated! My child does get held alot yes because I love loving on her! Does she get held day in and day out? No! I have a house, myself, a husband and other things to take care of! she plays by herself at home, she was just in different surroundings she doesnt know with people we dont know. Yes it does have smething to do with that she hasnt been left with anyone but that is bc of family probs(long story). They then went on to say it would be easier on everyone if they would get put in nursery when they are a baby vs 7 mos old. Im sorry but im not putting my nb baby in the nursery to catch sickness and germs unless i have to! For real!

Anyways back to the moral of the story. Most days I feel terrible about myself and feel like Im such a bad mom because my baby is so difficult and so unhappy. Why? I blame myself for everything that happens to her- thrush, colic, GERD, boo-boos, everything. Some days I think she deserves better than me! I lose patience sometimes and get frustrated but one thing never changes. The LOVE i have for my daughter. It grows bigger and bigger everyday! She is my wrld, just difficult ~~most the time~~ sometimes! Now dont think I am going to do something to her to hurt her, she is everything to me and I would never ever hurt her! It is just rough sometime! I hope this post doesnt make me seem like a bad person or mommy cuz I promise I love her with my whole heart and she is my whole world! <3 I love you Lexi Lynn!
